Overall

Initial ContactTwo weeks after filing out an application for the commission opening, I got an email letting me know the I got accepted and how to get ahold of Phoenix on telegram which is where the rest of the communication occurred.

Maker CommunicationCommunication was very clear, professional and timely throughout the entire process. Phoenix was friendly to work with and was clear with everything I needed to do for measurements and the dtd. I was very happy with the frequency of updates and WIP photos and how they kept my input in mind to make sure everything came out right.

Project Completion TimeTrello was used for the waiting queue and for how far along everyone’s suits were. It was all clearly laid out and easy to know how close your suit was to being started/done. Mine started to get partially worked on with some of the smaller things (tail, feat paw fur)around two months after my commission application was approved and two weeks later it was the main suit the they were working on. After that, it took about a little over two more weeks to be finished and was shipped using certified mail shortly after.

Overall Project QualityOverall I am extremely happy with how my suit turned out. Wearing it for the first time is a memory that I will never forget and I still feel the same 9 months later! I can absolutely tell the time and effort that went into making it with how amazing the quality is. From how great it looks, the high range of motion(for a digi suit), how comfortable it is to wear and how durable it has been I could not be any happier. Phoenix is on the more expensive side for fursuit makers but can more than justify it with the top tier quality that comes from time, effort and years of experience.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head is very comfortable to wear and is just the right size to be tight enough to not shake around while moving but still be comfortable to wear. Comparing it with the other fursuits of my friends that I have worn it is definitely on the better side for ventilation. The opening in the muzzle gives great air circulation for breathing and head cooling and the lining also helps a lot. Out of all the fursuit heads that I have tried on, mind definitely has the best vision. The blind spot directly in front between the eyes is very small and the side field of vision only cuts off a small portion of sight. The eye mess is very easy to see through as well.

Visual SatisfactionOverall I am very happy with how the head looks. Pretty much everything turned out exactly how I hoping it would and is high quality. The shaving is extremely even and the transition between the furs is very well done. The head base was foam carved and the communication was very good to get the expression just right. I definitely tell the time and dedication that went into making it from the quality of how it turned out.

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionThe suit fits well, is comfortable and the mobility is good for a digi suit. There is lining on the neck and ends off the limbs and not the entire suit which I prefer for better cooling and that it is easier to repair. The heat is not bad for a digi suit. The removable padding is vented which does noticeably helps with heat and paired with under armor and a cooling vest the heat has not been any issue for me. In the 9 months that I have had the suit I have only had a handful of popped seams all of which I have been able to fix with a pocket sewing kit and 10 minutes(and I am at a very basic level for sowing skills). I am definitely on the more active side when it comes to suiting so I am very happy with how well it has been holding up for durability.

Visual SatisfactionI am also very happy with how the body suit looks. Again the fur is very evenly shaved and the transitions between furs well done. All the furs are very high quality, soft and easy to brush the except for the black fur with white spots which is a little bit rougher since the uniqueness made it hard to find a very high-quality version of but it’s nothing too bad. When initially choosing the fur colors, Phoenix had multiple options that I got to pick between so I was able to get just the right shade for each color on the suit. Lastly I love how the padding for the digi legs turned out.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe hands fit well, are easy to get on and stay on. There is lining on the opening and have individual removable padding for each finger. So far the color has not faded and I have not had to do any repairs.

Visual SatisfactionI am very happy with how the hand paws looks especially with how the blue color turned out.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionHaven’t had any issues with durability for the tail. The connection is a loop on the end to put a belt through and is quite sturdy.

Visual SatisfactionAgian, definitely happy with how the tail turned out and is the perfect weight and size for wagging.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionThe feet paws fit well and are very comfortable to wear. Sometimes I like to just wear them as slippers when it gets cold. They have a padded mesh liner and have also held up very well with me only having to repair one small popped seam on the inside.

Visual SatisfactionJust repeating from before but very high quality and love how the blue was done on the paws.

Final CommentsI still remember the first moment I found out about the furry community back in 2008 from a section about Anthocon in the Guinness Book of World Records and ever since then I’ve dreamed of having my own first suit. Phoenix Nest did an absolute astounding job and I will forever be grateful with how they were able to bring my fursona to life. They were extremely friendly to work with, and I could not have wished for a better result for how my fursuit turned out. In conclusion, I will 100% recommend Phoenix nest to anyone that wants a top quality fursuit.
