Overall

Initial ContactThe maker was very responsive when contacted – the site form at the time was not working, so I reached out via social media and they responded right away.
Before I contacted them, I looked at the trello linked in the website and their prices. I didn't see a fullsuit option, but saw fullsuits in their gallery.
It turned out they did have an open slot for a fullsuit and were willing to take my commission.

Maker CommunicationResponse time – Nick was quick to respond, as was the in house artist, Captain, who helped with the ref-sheet and the custom lining. Costs, terms, etc. were clear up front and throughout the process I never felt like I was in the dark.
Nick the maker worked with me to choose the perfect colors and design features of my suit, and even made mock-ups of parts like the tail so I could get an idea of what size I wanted compared to the rest of the suit.
Finally, he was endlessly patient, even when I requested several small adjustments to get the horns just right, or the legs just right. He reassured me that he wanted to make sure I had my character just as I wanted, and I am grateful for that.

Project Completion TimeNick was very clear with the time expectations, updated his trello frequently, and I always knew where my suit was in the process of being made.
In the end, I got the suit a month earlier than expected, and I couldn't be happier. It was slated for arrival in December, possibly January, yet it arrived in November!

Overall Project QualityOverall the build is extremely durable and comfortable, as well as easy to care for.
Several features make this suit extra comfortable such as zip on/off hidden in the front, the crotch gusset, the detachable tail and the backpack style wings that go through reinforced slits in the back of the suit. It can also be easily converted in to a partial with thoughtful features such as separate wings, and a hidden belt slit in the tail.

I was drawn to Big Snoot's visual style, especially the big eyes and friendly open mouth and high eyebrows. My suit had the open friendly expression consistent with Big Snoot's signature style.

The visual appeal exceeded my expectations. My character gets a lot of attention wherever they go, and is constantly being stopped for photos by both furries and members of the general public. Everyone smiles when they see softie, which is what I hoped for.

The character has a cohesive flow when worn as a full or a partial suit. The suit is digitigrade so I sometimes must adjust the pillows after I walk a ways. The pillows can slide to the side a bit so I'll move them to the front more. I must also adjust sometimes (not constantly) by pushing down my legs a bit so that the bottom of the leg fully overlaps the top cuff of the feet. I believe this is normal for digitigrade construction.

The price was excellent and definitely worth every penny. I would have gladly paid more for this suit.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head is soft and comfortable to wear, and is lined with a custom printed lycra liner designed by Big Snoot's in-house artist.
The cleaning is quite easy for the head and it dries well. I haven't had any issue with it.
I can breathe well in the mask and the vision is excellent for visual range
It is difficult to read words, but otherwise I see fairly clearly
There is velcro in the head for various tongues, and there is a pocket for a headfan battery, with elastic loops to guide the wire for the headfan I requested.
The headfan attaches to velcro in a part of the muzzle hidden from outside view. However, I forego the headfan as it is not super strong and the ventilation is actually quite good thanks to the big eyes and mouth.

Visual SatisfactionThe head is exactly what I wanted.
It is symmetrical with small imperfections that add to the character in a good way! The particular professional yet hand made look of Big Snoot suits is quite appealing to me.
Shaving was excellent, especially as I requested a short shave on most of the head.
The fur is extremely soft with excellent color, and very easy to care for
The eyes are follow me and the expressions of the character change based on the tilt of my head.
I requested unique baby dragon nubby horns, which came out perfect.
I smile every time I see this cute little booper's face!

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionThe bodysuit is quite comfortable and fits me well.
It is unlined inside, and ventilates well with underarmor.
The construction on the seams is reinforced and quite durable.
They even added a gusset in the crotch for better movement.
I am able to comfortably move, squat, and dance in this suit.

Visual SatisfactionVisually, the suit is symmetrical with excellent shaving, especially given the difficulty of working with extra short fur.
The fur is extremely soft and huggable and the colors are soft and perfect for what I wanted.
I couldn't be happier with the selection of color and material for Softie.
The maker warned me that such short fur on a suit would show seams more, but it actually adds to the look in my opinion. Thanks to their very clean sewing work, he is reminiscent of a big stuffed animal, which matches his character quite well.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe hands are quite comfortable and do not slip off even with strenuous movements.
They are four-fingered, and look nearly identical, but there is a left and right, which I distinguish by feel.
They have removable pillow-pads inside for the finger tips that give them a nice full appearance.
They are unlined and are easy to wash and care for.

Visual SatisfactionAs with the rest of the suit, they are quite soft. I particularly like the paw pads that are sewn on and edged with a thick stitching outline. They look quite great. I can point but cannot do a thumbs up gesture, which is fine.
The colors and design match the concept art and go with the rest of the suit.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is very easy to wear with a zip-on/off zipper around the base for easy attachment to the suit. I remove the tail before storage or washing.
In addition , the tail has a hidden slit for a belt for when I want to partial.

Visual SatisfactionThe tail is exactly what I was looking for – it matches the concept art and the rest of the suit. As an added bonus, it bounces somewhat with my movement, giving my suit more life when moving or dancing.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionI got indoor and outdoor paws. They are made in sockpaw style and are quite comfortable to wear.
They allow for good movment, and are easy to put on or remove.
They seem very durable, but the interior is soft, lined with a quilted pattern.
The indoor paws have very nice pads that match the style of the paws, and the outdoor feet have a strong, durable, nonslip textured hard rubber-like material on the bottom.
I don't wash the feet in the washing machine as they might be difficult to fully dry after.

Visual SatisfactionI love the look o the feet. The formation of the toes is excellent, and they are well shaped. The color is very nice wit the individual toes a contrasting color to the rest of the foot.
Visually, they are just what I was looking for.

Special FeaturesThe pillows in the digitigrade legs are made of the same custom printed lycra as the head lining and removable finger pillows.
The leg pillow covers can unsnap and the fiber fill removed so that they can be easily washed.
The color of the custom print lining does not fade or run with washing.

Final CommentsI would recommend Big Snoot Suits to anyone who wants an excellent and unique suit that is also affordable as suits go. Nick and Captain are so great to work with. Not only are they great artists, they are great people. I'm proud to represent the snoot as a Big Snoot Suiter!

Everyone who has commissioned this maker raves about them, and how great they are to work with. I can see why. I really am grateful that they took on my commission and brought my character to life.
