Overall

Initial ContactThe partial suit was purchased premade, but since then I've started on having a bodysuit made to match so I can fairly comment on this. Contact was especially easy in person at the two conventions we've both been at since I bought the partial, and online communications have only been slowed down a little by different schedules. Nothing unexpected.

Maker CommunicationCommunication has been fantastic. Space Cat is very personable and easy to talk to while still being professional. Communication has gotten a little more casual as we've gotten to know each other but never unprofessional when discussing work. Any questions I've had have been answered clearly and in perfectly reasonable time. We have gone back and forth through methods but that's never slowed things down any.

Project Completion TimeAs yet the bodysuit process has only just started so I don't have an answer for this right now. I've been given realistic expectations of when the work should hopefully be done, there hasn't been any lack of clarity on that.

Overall Project QualityI couldn't be happier with Sprocket. There is no hyperbole in that statement whatsover. My first time wearing the suit, which was immediately after purchase, I didn't even need an hour before I went back to Space Cat's dealer table and start talking about upgrading to a full suit. The suit is incredibly photogenic and lively, very comfortable, and still gives me happy little shivers when I look at it either in a mirror or just photos. All of the stitching seems durable and long-lasting so far, and knowing there are a number of older Space Cat suits getting plenty of use makes me confident that mine will last very well too. I will say that the price was toward the higher end of what I'd expect to pay, but when compared to how comfortable, well-made and simply beautiful the suit is I don't think it was too expensive at all. Worth every cent.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionSprocket's head is almost impossibly comfortable to wear. It's built on a balaclava base so it's almost weightless even compared to my other suit's full-foam head and especially against resin, and stays in place very well too. Vision is excellent as well, with only a small blind spot to center and very good peripheral vision both up and down and to the sides. Other suiters I've let try the head on have commented on exactly the same thing. Airflow is also very good. Breathing is easy enough that I have spent multiple hours at a time in suit, including dancing, without ever once feeling like I was struggling at all. The balaclava does make speaking a little bit of a nuisance, but it also helps keep hot breath away from my face which helps considerably with cooling. Carrying a fan is nearly unnecessary other than in especially warm areas.

Visual SatisfactionI'm stunned all over again every time I take a look at Sprocket's head. The subtle color differences in her fur are contrasted so well by her bright accents and her eyes seem more lively than almost any other suit head I've seen. They don't have the strongest follow-me effect ever but it's good for most angles and doesn't require the eyes to be set so deep that they look unnatural from straight on. Materials are all high quality, soft and manageable fur, all markings are sewn in so they shouldn't suffer any bleed or fade. The nose includes a built-in septum piercing that I intend to use, as it will fit the character well, but is also just fun to poke silly things through and for those that don't intend to use it, it's barely visible.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionFor soft, padded handpaws Sprocket's are actually remarkably light and easy to wear. They use small, stuffed pillows to add bulk instead of denser padding or fur materials while keeping the palm surface thin enough to allow at least some dexterity. Feeling for elevator buttons and other simpler tasks is not a problem at all. The wrist segments are more than long enough to keep full coverage with a long-sleeved top. Given that the suit was purchased as a premade they fit me well, only needing an occasional fidget to adjust their position. They are four-finger style with enough room in the digits to let the wearer choose which fingers they want to pair up in a single one.

Visual SatisfactionThese handpaws are VERY soft. Between nice fur and their pillow padding they feel nice from the outside and in. Not one person who has seen them has failed to love the blue pawpads and pink claws, which make them very eye-catching. The pads are a very soft, smooth fur, almost velvet in texture, with something pretty similar for the claws which makes them soft and very unlikely to poke anyone or anything in the eye or anywhere else delicate.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is a simple double-loop belt mount which lets it stay in a very stable position while still being able to move around and out of the way when necessary. The padding is heavy enough to give it some momentum for a good wag, but still light enough that it maintains a nice bounce vertically too. The loops are made of sturdy material, hold well and don't seem to show any signs of tearing even when pulled.

Visual SatisfactionThe tail looks and feels wonderful worn or just laid out to appreciate. The fur is on the long side and very pettable to the point that I often wear the tail outside of suit so I can pet it myself. It bounces gently off of my legs as I walk, giving it some animation without being so heavy that it gets irritating bouncing or pulling on my belt.
