Features: None Concept Art Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactIt's very easy to get a quote when the quote window is open. You just send an email with your reference sheet. I got a response to my email quote the next day. Her openings are announced on Twitter and Instagram. Maker CommunicationI'm pretty satisfied with the communication. They are not a native English speaker so they use google translate. There were some things that I needed clarification on but it was quick and easy to get that figured out. The quotes are handled via email. When she opens the application window, a link is posted that takes you to fill out a form via google docs. Two days after I sent my application, she reached out to me via Twitter DMs. Throughout the whole process communication was consistent and fast considering our time zones. When she wasn't working on my suit, the longest I had to wait for a response was 6 days. The times she was working on my suit the wait time is a day up to 2 days. I was never worried about not hearing from her. One thing to note is that she does not send you WIPS of every little thing she does. She posts some progress pictures on her Patreon. If you are not on Patreon or want some detailed progression pictures you need to ask her yourself! Otherwise she wont send you WIPS. She only shows you a 3D picture of what your fursuit head would look and you can tell her what needs tweaked with the colors and patterns or discuss other head shape options. Next she sends you a picture of what the eyes would look like and go through changes if needed. But I asked her if there is some other eye style she suggest because I wasn't happy with how plain it looks, as it was on the ref sheet. She says she usually follows the ref sheet but was willing to go out of her way to design a different look for the eyes. A day after she sends a picture of a new version of the eyes (with added stars) and I loved it. After that, she continues on with the rest of the suit. I asked her to let me know when she receives my package with my dummy in it and to take a picture of it which she did. I asked her to take a picture of when she stuffed my dummy and she did. This was around April 29th. She posted pictures of the fur patterns cut on Patreon on 5/8. Then I saw my body suit, hands and feet done and posted on Patreon on 5/11! On 5/20 she posted progress pictures of the head. On 5/23 she showed me pictures of the head furred and asked me if I like the color of the fabric she used for the tongue and asked me to provide my head size. Then on 6/01/2023 she surprises me out of the blue with pictures of the fursuit completed and modeled for pictures! Project Completion TimeHer quote opening was 11/11/22 and I emailed that day and got a response the next day. Her application opening was 11/13/22, which I filled out the google form and I got a response two days later saying that they selected me. I had to respond by the 17th if I wanted to go through with the project. I replied to the email saying that I wanted to go through with it that same day, the 15th, and got a replay the next day. On 11/16/22 I got a message from her via Twitter DMs welcoming me to the Jellydog family! She said the fursuits of this commission window will be started in December and I was third in line. From there she completed 2 partial premade suits, a head commission and a full suit commission then started my suit in mid April. That's a busy schedule and quick work if you ask me! Then she sent me pictures of the full suit completed on June 1st! Overall Project QualityI am overjoyed with the final product! Swayze came out super adorable! The suit represents the character very well. Jellydog did an excellent job bringing her to life! Despite how bulky the suit is and how huge the paddings are, everything flows well together and makes the suit look super adorable. Wearing it in person, I would say everything is oversized but once put together I see it in the pictures, it looks like the perfect size with everything else. I would not get digitigrade suits anymore though! At least not with these big of digitigrade padding. Eventually I plan to get a plantigrade body for Swayze. All other concerns of the other parts in this review are but small complaints that I feel I could handle and adjust myself. But I do hope it helps Jellydog to make some changes to how she makes the suits such as adding more airflow to the heads and adjusting the hand paw sizes. I think the overall construction of this project is very professional, excellently innovated, and made by a top tier suit maker! Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head is pretty big and seems to be standard size for all their heads. What makes them fit to your size is little padding that are like pillows hot glued inside. The head is very tight for me but I just need to reduce the padding. Jellydog includes a fan as a standard in their heads. It's a nice powerful fan that attaches to the top of the inside of the muzzle with velcro. Behind the neck flap is a little pocket for a power bank to power the fan. The head gets so hot because of the lack of air flow so keeping the fan running is a must. I don't last more than 5 minutes without it. Other than that, it sits comfortably enough on my head with some adjustments and hugs my chin snuggly. I have to pull the excess neoprene down over my chin and make sure that my chin sits flush with the bottom jaw of the muzzle. There is no noticeable spot or notch to sit your chin upon unlike other suits I've worn. I don't think my chin is supposed to be IN or the muzzle or sitting on the bottom jaw. I think your chin is supposed to align with the base of the head or along the bottom jaw which gives the fursuit character a neck. This is the first suit I have in which I actually have a neck! A lot of fursuit heads cover most of your neck or even just sit on your shoulders! This one doesn't so that helps with moving your head around and give the fursuit its proper shape. The head isn't lined with anything it's just bare black foam. You will need to wear something like a balaclava. The base of the head/ top part of the neck (not the neck flap) that is level around your chin is the only part of the head that is lined with neoprene. This is the part of the head that catches all the sweat so that needs more attention with cleaning. Cleaning is easy as long as you use a moisture wicking balaclava. The vision is excellent and bigger than all other suits I've worn. It has a wide peripheral vision. The eyes are well constructed and sturdy. The printing of the mesh is very good too. They sit very well in front of my own eyes. I feel like I have very good control of my head since the neck is free and everything is aligned with my eyes, which I hardly get with the other suits I've worn. I have great motion with it. The eyes and nose point to where I want them to point and that really helps with posing for pictures, performing for videos and just seeing where I'm going. For example, when posing for pictures wearing other suits, I would have to look away from the camera or point my head up in order for the eyes of the suit to look ahead to the camera. Visual SatisfactionAs for the look of the head, it's very well made and the fur all blend in well with no seams or hot glue sticking out. The shaving is a bit spotty though and they didn't really shave the white fur on the head because the fur is just short pile already but I think it would have been better if it was shaven down further, at least around the face. The other two furs on the face was brown and tan and they were both shaven except for the white fur. So the white fur looks messy and I have to keep brushing the face. I asked for two pairs of eye lids and they are decent. The magnets sit very well on the eyes and make a great shape! But the shaving of the fur is really off so it's really easy to see them and they don't flow well with the fur on the face. So I'm constantly having to brush it and manipulate the direction of the fur of the eyelids so that it blends well onto the face. The patterns and colors of the head are great and where they are supposed to be. I love the look of the head other than the white fur. The ears aren't quite like the shape that's in my ref sheet but it's close enough. I can feel just a tad bit of hot glue in the fur around the base of the ears but that's hidden from view of course. I think the overall shape of the ears are unique and really add to the adorableness of the character. Before the fursuit was made, Jellydog had made a small piece of art of Swayze to make into stickers for their convention. I really loved the shape of the eyes in her artwork so I asked her to make Swayze with that same shape. She did a wonderful job translating her art into the fursuit head! Also, instead of the ears looking more like my ref sheet, they look more like her art which is still great. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionBecause of the amount of padding, I have to say this is the bulkiest, heaviest, and most tiring suit I've ever worn. This fursuit uses a body pod, or jumper filled with polyfil to give it the digitigrade look. The buckles for the shoulder straps are huge and heavy duty so it seems a bit overkill and not quite necessary. You have to use a lot of effort to pull the legs of the jumpsuit through the legs of the fur, I worry I might pop a seam. The legs and padding are really tight in the suit which is why I think the shoulder straps are unnecessary. My legs go through nicely and aren't tight to wear. The padding of the jumper ends on the hips so above that is free. Because of the huge padding, it's hard to move and heavy so you have to have good body strength and stamina. Fursuiting in this is a workout! But despite all that the suit feels surprisingly breathable (I think?) but it's still hot and I sweat a lot in it. I suggest using a cooling vest. Another thing I mentioned before about the jumper is that inside the jumper there seems so much folds of excess fabric where the polyfil goes in. It's hard to discern where within these folds, to put the polyfil! Jellydog says it's just the way she makes it. I didn't ask why but I assumed its so that the polyfil fills the jumpsuit in layers separated by the folds, which makes sense. Otherwise I didn't see another reason for the excess fabric/folds. When I clean the suit, I take out the polyfil and wash the jumper in the washing mashing. When dried I stuff it back up with polyfil and just put them in the pod wherever I want within the folds of the excess material to achieve the right digi shape. The suit seems really loose around my torso to me and seems long as if it were made for a taller person with a longer torso, if you know what I mean. When I pull the zipper up, it goes all the way up to my chin, it's also because the neck of the suit is small. I have to have someone tug on the fur from the legs to pull it down to adjust the digi and also I have to pull my crotch down otherwise the neck hole of the suit feels like it's choking me. It's not a terrible complaint but it does add some discomfort. Visual SatisfactionThe hands, feet and head are huge but they work very well with the rest of the body size. The tail is a great size too, lots of fursuit makers seem to make tails way too small in proportion to the rest of the body. Everything on this suit is the perfect size and shape! The digi looks great in pictures. The markings are in the perfect spots and sizes just like in the reference sheet. The colors seem different on the suit from the reference sheet because the fur options were discussed just a few days after I put in my application and I asked them to change it to a different color option they showed me. The furs were all from HowlFabric. There's a small tan diamond marking at my belly button and it's just above the base of the zipper and zips up to the neck. But I guess the sewing is tricky to do with the zipper going through it. The fur for the marking was sewn in an awkward place so it doesn't sit straight or flow with the rest of the body. It's easily seen. People think it's because the zipper is showing but it is not. Its just that the diamond marking has exposed edges where the tan and white fur is sewn together and creates a sort of bump which shows over the zipper, if that makes sense. Next time I'll have to not have markings right in the middle of the body where a zipper would go lol. Lastly, the overall construction of the body is so professionally made. Very very good sewing and no loose strings. Very solid sewing job and incredibly strong. I think the arms are a little too thin towards the cuffs. The tail is attached to the body and that's especially good since my tail is just a nub. I think it sits very well with the suit however it has zero bounce. The tail is stiff but the shape is fine and doesn't droop. Hands Wear SatisfactionThe hands are soooo comfortable and so plush. It's lined with a smooth strong neoprene. It's definitely a big fit for my small hands though. They are kinda loose and I would have to tug them for my fingers go all the way through to make them feel like they are secure. And because the arm sleeves are thin it's hard to pull them over the hand paws. One of the things I really dislike is how I always have to have someone push my hand paws into the sleeves to make sure my hands are in them and pull my sleeves over them. I'd have to find a way to attached the handpaws on the sleeves so that they feel tugged and secure when I put on the suit, otherwise they would hang too loosely on my hands and fall off. There's not much control or dexterity with them because the paws are so big and there's so much space in the fingers. So you can't move with them or pose well with them lol. It would be easier if they had finger escapes. I commissioned Jellydog for another pair of handpaws since I lost one at a con and they said they could include finger escapes. So if you decide to commission them, I suggest you tell Jellydog to give you finger escapes! Visual SatisfactionThe hands do seem kinda huge, especially by themselves. Compared to the rest of the body, they do look big but I think that adds to the plushness. Their size do make them hard to control so the positioning of the fingers seem kinda wonky when posing for pictures n such. The sewing is very good although the cuffs are sewn with a weak material and you can see the black neoprene underneath when it's wet. I think the cuffs will be the first to get worn out. Other than that the sewing is great. The paw pads and claws are well constructed. The shaving is excellent. I also love the overall shape of the fingers and claws, it has my favorite paw shape and anatomy. Just one claw on one finger is sewn a little crooked, haha. Feet Wear SatisfactionThe feet are very comfortable. Inside it uses crocks or some other foam shoes that you send to the maker yourself so you could be sure it's a comfortable fit. They aren't heavy and feel like you're walking on air. The construction is so good, they feel so secure, sturdy and they hold up well. They are definitely going to last a long time. The sewing of the pads and claws are very well done. The padding in the feet is made of the same material as the body pod and contain a zipper to take out the polyfil. Visual SatisfactionThe feet are huge and stompy! But their size, unlike the hands, work very well with the digitigrade. The feet paws are super cute and plush. I love the way they look. The construction of the pads and claws and great. There is no shaving that was needed other than underneath the feet. The anatomy of the toes and claws are perfect. Special FeaturesThe fan inside the head is attached to the top of the muzzle with velcro. It has it's own usb cord attached but is quite long. On the back of the neck on the neck flap is a small pocket for a power bank(that you buy yourself) made with neoprene. Since the usb wire is so long I cut it and rewired it to make it shorter, that way I can have the wire go from the muzzle up around top of the head and down to the neck where it reaches the battery pack and plugs in with no excess wire moving around when you put the head on. The fan is pretty powerful and keeps me cool to keep fursuiting otherwise it's so hot without it because there is almost no airflow throughout the head. Final CommentsThings to remember when you commission Jellydog: Ask for finger escapes (if you want it) especially if you have small hands. You can ask to have smaller sized hands and feet. She can also add extra padding or change the shape of the body how you want. She usually makes her suits with attached tail so you have to let her know if you want it to be removeable. Ask her to adjust anything you want before she starts to make it! Ask for specific progress pictures often or she wont send you any! She posts just a little on Patreon. It was a easy commission process with quick consistent communication. This fursuit maker is friendly and easy to get along with and she goes through with my requests when it comes to the construction of the suit when asked. She was happy to answer all my questions and make adjustments. I'm really happy with the process from start to finish and I'm super overjoyed with the outcome! The suit is wonderful inside and out. I really do feel that the construction is professional and top tier with excellent materials! I'm proud to have a Jellydog suit and honored to be part of the Jellydog family! I honestly would commission her again for another suit but next time with plantigrade feet lol. The timing of course is excellent. From the point in first contact to when she started on my suit is a fast consistent timing considering she did complete Lastly, shipping is super expensive and will be calculated upon completion.
