I believe I heard about him through instagram by just looking up fursuit pictures. I really liked the way his suits looked so I googled them. I went to his website and hit contact, it was literally that easy. You can choose a lot of different ways like a form but I went with discord. I purchased Budsie just by asking if he had a slot open, no service or different website needed apart from Paypal to.. well, pay. He gave me a free quote (the first quote is free and he even explained why so I wasn't confused!) and explained when his commissions opened, and then I came right back and commissioned him when he opened back up!
He explained everything about the things he needed since I was new to commissioning a fursuit and he did a great job explaining how to measure my hands and my head! He also explained his different methods like how he was doing the ears and why he was doing them that way so I could understand the process.
I swear the longest I had to wait was 10 minutes, he was so incredibly fast!
The vibe was very casual and honest with him being upright about certain things with the suit which helped keep me in the loop on progress! I don't think I had a single week where I wasn't aware of what was going on on a daily basis.
He communicated thoroughly what things would probably take a minute as well as letting me know of anything that could be difficult about the design and let me know how long it is likely to take! He even told me days he would go on errands so that if I needed something (like one time he went on errands and before he left he explained about how sewing popped seams works should that happen) like, he went above and beyond with everything!
There was a timeline and he made Budsie so much faster than the ETA!
I didn't ask for any date because I'd rather something be done right and slow than wrong and fast. With that said, the time that he estimated was actually later than what he ended up doing! If I remember correctly he was done with Budsie several months before the ETA which was awesome!!
He shipped Budsie with Fedex, and there was a point where Fedex told me he would be there on Monday but instead Fedex actually delivered him early on Saturday (not in his control but still, nice bonus!)! Tracking was provided and since I was very nervous about him shipping something so expensive he even comforted me and explained he gets details on where the ship is which really calmed my nerves.
I am legitimately over the moon even now 3 years later. He's expressive, his fur shaving is phenomenal, I have worn him nearly every single day since getting him and he hasn't gotten any popped seams or any holes in the slightest, and on top of that 28Ghostiez is just a fun person to work with! Clearly he has a passion for this and it shows in his work! Honestly, for what I received, I wish I had paid more! He exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds!
The fact he gave me an extra feature (the detailed lining) and constantly checked in nearly daily to make sure I liked the shape that was going on makes me want to go back to commission him for all my characters!
I fell in love with how his static eyes look and he even made sketches over top of real pictures of him working to show what the suit would look like from different angles so I could draw over it and ask for certain shapes. He was that detailed! Each fursuit he makes is better and better and the shapes are getting more refined, like I want to go back to him one day when I retire Budsie 1.0 in the very very VERY far off distant future just because I know he will knock it outta the park just as he did before!
Tldr; Budsie is fantastic quality and I will be going back to 28Ghostiez. Did my dinodog puppy justice and then some!
Budsie is seriously comfy to wear, legit like wearing a pillow! He's very breathable and I haven't found a single instance where I am struggling to breathe or have a pressure headache unless I myself am wearing something that already does give me a headache like tiny bone conductors. I am extremely sensitive to stimuli and get easily bothered by texture so I was worried about that but Budsie does not trigger any sort of uncomfortable sensations which is important if you struggle with textures like I do. Like I said before he is a tad loose but with a balaclava I can hardly even notice it! It's not a looseness that he flops around but more so… I guess spacious would be the word! I can see very well as well! The vision is very spacious and more often than not I forget I'm even wearing him if not for his big ol ears that are just so adorable to flop around! The ears also do not block my vision as much as I thought they would, it's more so just barely in the corners of his eyes.
Budsie is lined with a custom liner that the maker himself drew and printed at no additional cost to me as a lil gift because he was testing out custom linings! The lining is cool to the touch and makes the inside of his head surprisingly chilly compared to the outside. I ADORE putting his neckhole in front of a cool air conditioner before I go out because he stays chilled for legit at least 2 hours before he starts to heat up. That material has been an absolute godsend for summer suiting.
When I need to cool off I shove a fan in his mouth or close to his eye and it's like I'm not even wearing a fursuit head because the air hits the entirety of my face. I do tend to blow air through my fursuit mouth so that I can a fresh inflow of air when it gets hot which is a habit I got from when I was young in the fandom but with Budsie I hardly have to do that at all because he just hardly heats up.
Budsie's markings are purposefully lopsided and he looks PHENOMENAL! His muzzle is very symmetrically shaped and so are his stuffed horns and big floppy ears.
The shaving is perfect as well! Smooth as well as shaved a little around each markings to detail the lots of hand sewn dots he has around the back of his head. The back of his head is complex to say the least and 28Ghostiez nailed every aspect of it!
His fur is soft as can be and very easy to brush! I prefer using a sensitive skin baby's brush so I don't worry about pulling out any hair but usually use a pets brush backwards to not to pull any hair out. In a pinch he is easily brushed with just fingers too and it looks just as good as with an actual brush! One time I got lightly rained on and no markings bled at all! Of course he was thoroughly spoiled after that and cleaned and it was hardly a big thing at all! He was extremely easy to clean and the lining made it easy to air out and cleanse the inside of him as well!
Oh my god he is the cutest thing in the entire world I kid you not! I can get so many expressions just by tilting my head just a little bit. I can make him shy, angry, shocked, intrigued, and even dazed from certain angles. His tongue is also velcro and removable which helps with that too! Not to mention the incredible markings he did and 28Ghostiez even remembered his snaggle tooth which is a personal detail that I really needed. The eyes are static so I do have to think about where I am looking VS where HE is looking but it's no hassle at all and more so just the thing with static eyes!
Honestly, it is a carbon copy of my dinodog's art. 28Ghostiez modified nothing and constantly came back to me with WIP's that I could then draw over to help with the shape too! I was the one that modified my hands which I speak about in the paw section because I decided in real life the colors I had for him did not look as good as in art.
My hands are very small so everything I wear that isn't child sized will be loose, but they fit rather nicely! My wrists are not visible and my hands stay cool in there too! I can move like I'm wearing a glove with no restrictions at all if you ignore the fact I only have 4 fingers so obviously I can't pick things up too good. They are extremely easy to slide on and stay cool when I'm out in the blazing sun.
The hands are extremely durable and nothing has fallen off at all! The nails are sewn on so well that even tapping on things as often as I do nothing has developed any holes. I do a lot of pretend digging and fiddling with my paws to give him a shy appearance sometimes and if those paws can handle nearly 4 hours of doing that then they are very durable!
The insides are lined (though they are not lined with the custom lining, but instead a black silk-soft cool lining), and the hands are the same deal as the head where they stay very cool and my hands are very dry inside them! I sweat buckets and even then I am very dry in there. They are also very easy to wash and are easy to brush though they are small since, again, my hands are small, so I do struggle sometimes but that's simply just a byproduct of them fitting so most brushes are large compared to them. If something is small, it can be hard to brush, just like anything.
My paws have a inverted symmetry, where one section is blue, one is white, and other yellow on one hand, while the other hand one section is yellow, one is blue and the other is white. Even with different furs they looked phenomenal!
The shaving is very detailed and smooth. The transition between the longer blue and the shorter white is perfect!
Oh my god, the pawpad's fabric is some of the softest stuff I have ever known, I believe they are made from the same material as the claws. Both are extremely durable. I have 4 fingered paws and they are by far the bappiest paws I have worn.
During development, I realized that having the claws and paws be the same color didn't look as good as it did on the art, so I asked to have the claws blue and the paw pads pink and it looks so much better like that! I still need to update my ref sheet because honestly I prefer the colors that way and 28Ghostiez was very receptive of everything!
The tongue is removable with velcro! It sticks very well and I don't worry about it falling off because it is on there good but not too difficult to remove either! I do sometimes need help with my tongue but that's only because giant paws are hard to feel things with, this is not a slight on the actual quality of the tongue, just figured I'd mention it in case you also struggle with that.
Budsie has GIANT ears that are actually just a framework type situation so they remain light and they are adorable! They flop around just like a real puppy's and I never worry about them breaking because they are just that durable! The ears also help with so many expressions! The seams where the ears are attached to the head haven't developed any holes either so I know they are in there good! Plus, I received a fun video of him waggling them about when Budsie was in the early stages of building so I know they are sturdy lil suckers!
Budsie has a semi-pickable nose and his nose is so detailed! I can stick two fingers into his nose hole (just for transparency, the holes do not connect).
Budsie also has big form horns that are perfect for squishing! They are a firm kind of soft and don't move.
He also has a snaggle tooth which is something near and dear to my heart. I only had to mention that I wanted his snaggle tooth to represent my own medical tooth things and 28Ghostiez remembered and double checked that he did it right!
Budsie's head also has a custom lining which 28Ghostiez did at no extra cost to test out a service he wanted to start doing. I still have the art as my wallpaper on my computer! The lining is soft and cools down an insane amount which I mentioned before.
