I initially contacted the maker via Twitter commission opening post.
I was able to message the maker at anytime about my commission. He got back to me asap! He did fall ill during the creation process however he is very open about what's going on behind the scenes.
My suit was completed in 10 months from initial paying of my slot. The maker does not do deadlines or due dates. My items were shipped as soon as portfolio photos were taken, tracking and insurance were provided upon ship.
MQ was worth everything and more. I couldn't be more happier with the experience of commissioning my first fursuit. MQ as a character means so much to me so it meant alot to really research a maker who takes the time to study animal shapes. I was looking for a lion and got more than I could ever ask for. The shapes are absolutely beautiful, I love holding their cheeks in my hands and styling or smoothing their mane back. The product is extremely consistent with the maker's style and is some of his best work IMO!! Everything fits wonderfully. Including the extra room in the head I asked for my hair.
The fit of the head is one of the most comfiest I've ever worn. It's line with neoprene and there's extra room for my hair to be in a ponytail and not bother me/the fit. The muzzle is carved out so well I have no trouble staying cool or ventilation issues!! Air circulates wonderfully through the head. The eyes are made by dye sub printing mesh which allows me the BEST vision. The suit has a blind spot in the center however that is expected due to being a Lion and the sculpt to match the species correctly which Is exactly what I wanted. When I walk I do have to sway my head back and forth but it's truly not bothersome to look out of one eye to interact with people or things! I can also look out of the mouth if need be to get a clearer image of someone or my surroundings at my feet. I don't have peripheral vision but I don't have any issues navigating on my own without a handler.
MQ's head is so gorgeous and stunning. I catch myself looking at the head when it's not in use on the head mount. I love fawning over the little details and fixing their mane. The symmetry is amazing, there is nothing lopsided and all of the markings match my reference to a T. The shaving is so smooth, I believe the beaver was touch up again with a final shave. The fur lengths match those of a lion and I couldn't be more happier with how she looks. The fox fur used on their mane is very coarse and a noticeably different texture! I Really wanted something different from normal shag! I used a soft bristle brush to brush the beaver fur. My head requires minimal brushing due to the short furs used on the face and the mane doesn't need brushing often. I am overjoyed with the expression on the head, Liz did modify their eye design to his drawing style but honestly I adore it and will probably incorporate it into their design.
The handpaws are so comfortable. I can spread my fingers and move them around perfectly fine. I can put them on and off by myself without need of help and they stay on my hands! The quality is amazing and I find myself looking at all of the seam work and stitching often! The claws are appliqued claw slits. The interior is spandex lined and keeps my hands very cool especially if it's hot outside! The lining is attached to the paws via snaps so I can remove the polyfill inside of the fingers for easier cleaning. I just noticed as of a couple weeks ago from today that the dew claw not only can you put a finger inside it is lined as well!! That's above and beyond for a cosmetic fun little detail that's unusable.
All of the materials are soft!! The paw pads are made from mochi minky and the handpaws themselves from beaver furs. They are all symmetrical sized paw pads on both paws. The paw's shape matches my reference.
My head features magnetic angry eyelids and two magnetic tongues. One tongue is standard and one is able to be used in a muzzle lick fashion. The tongue is wonderful quality and very soft and plush with some polyfil on the interior. The eyelids have a spandex material on the back and are very easy to put on and remove! I do have issues with vision wearing the eyelids, HOWEVER, this was known at the time of commissioning due to the blind spot of the muzzle of the lion! I am happy with these features!!
