I saw on Instagram that Red had commission slots open so I dmed her for a quote and was responded to quickly. I then confirmed that I’d like to go through with the commission and was accepted. Maker CommunicationRed was amazing to work with!! Throughout the creation process she was very patient, helpful, and friendly. She always responded quickly and gave lots of wips/updates so I always felt like I was being taken care of. We communicated entirely through Instagram dms which kept things simple. Project Completion TimeI first reached out about a quote at the end of October and, once the deposit was sent, Red started working on Carbon immediately. She estimated 1-3 months for completion but the suit took about 1 month even with another fursuit being worked on at the same time. Carbon was shipped out to me (with tracking) in early December and arrived before we expected without any delays or customs issues. Overall Project QualityExtremely high!! My suit has held up well through many conventions/furmeets and still looks fantastic! It truly exceeded my expectations in wear-ability, quality, and craftsmanship, especially for the price I paid. I’d honestly be happy to commission Red again. Components Head Wear SatisfactionI truly love wearing this suit. It’s heavier than my previous heads but everything is balanced well. There is an invisible zipper in the back and an adjustable elastic band inside which are both very easy to use, though I can slide the head on and off without using the zipper. The internal lining is breathable and easy to clean. Honestly, I'm most impressed with the incredible vision!! I have basically no middle blind spot and lots of peripheral vision. I can navigate crowded and dark spaces very easily due to this. Ventilation is solid and I can suit for quite a while. Visual SatisfactionCarbon looks absolutely gorgeous!! The shaving is very smooth with no visible seams. Everything is symmetrical as well! The eyes are so vibrant and intricately painted that they really stand out in pictures and are honestly my favorite part of the suit. I love that Carbon has a full mouth of (extremely well made) plush teeth while still appearing happy; it fits the character perfectly. Other pros are the perky ears and the bendable noodle whiskers for different poses! Red also made some great suggestions on how to elevate design elements, which really adds to how fantastic Carbon looks.
