Overall

Initial ContactIt was very easy to find all of Howl's info, quotes, openings, DTDs, materials, etc. on Twitter and her website. I initially contacted her through Twitter DMs to ask a question, and eventually filled out a form to get a quote. She gave me the quote through twitter DMs and once she decided to accept the commission, I filled out another form and sent things like measurements etc. over Twitter as well.

Maker CommunicationI had EXCELLENT communication with Howl throughout the process and beyond. I was shown every step of the process (I have a folder of images on my phone of all the progress pics which I cherish!) If I had a question or concern, Howl answered it, and in a timely manner. We communicated mostly through twitter DMs. If there was a delay or issue, Howl was very clear with me about everything. If I had an issue or question about the progress, Howl welcomed feedback made me feel comfortable to ask. She was friendly and kind to me through every step of the process.

Project Completion TimeThere was a queue on trello updated daily with progress so I was fully in the loop with that! There were a couple of slight delays with production but Howl communicated with me about them and I completely understood!

Overall Project QualityI am very satisfied with all the materials used, the fit and comfort-ability, and how closely Howl followed the reference, down to the green armpit hair. It has exceeded my expectations, and I think it was well worth the price I paid if not much more!
I also wanted to note, I had no problems with shipping. My head was surrounded by the bodysuit so it wasn't jostled. It was international shipping (Canada to USA) for a large box so it was expensive, but it was clear in Howl's TOS that I would be paying for shipping and I did not mind!

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionVisibility is pretty good! For how hidden the tear duct area is, I can see just fine. Obviously Mo always has her hair over one eye so that doesn't help things haha, but the hair was made floppy and can be pushed out of the way easily for better visibility.
Mo has a moving jaw with hinges. The head does not fit people with slightly larger faces than me because of the hinges, but it fits me fine. The hinges are not the most comfortable against my face and can easily get caught in my hair, but wearing a balaclava solves all that!
Overall wearing the head is very comfortable. It's not super heavy, and the elastic around the back of my head is very secure without being too tight.
Breathing/ventilation is pretty good! The mouth opens pretty wide and I can get pretty good airflow in there.
The head is resin and not lined. When I take it off, condensation from sweat/breath is on on the interior resin base, but it's super easy to clean off and does not get absorbed into the material.

Visual SatisfactionSomething I was very concerned with in my search for a maker was head shape. Mo is a Tasmanian Devil. I did not want a modified canine base or something for him. I wanted a devil base. And Howl DELIVERED! She sculpted a base from scratch, using lots of reference to get their unique shape just right, and also taking into account vision and wear-ability.
The head is just gorgeous. There is such attention to detail with the placement of whiskers, eyelashes and subtle dry-brush painting of the fur. My jawset was cast in UV green and the lips were painted pink! UV green was probably hard to paint over, but there's pretty good coverage with the pink paint.
I was also very specific about an expression with a lidded eye and that came out really well too! The placement of the eyebrows/markings etc and the moving jaw actually makes the head very versatile in terms of expression, which is great.
The fur is super soft and not crusty or anything around where the paint is. The minky on the ears is really soft too!
Mo's hair I knew would be a pain in the butt for any maker, but Howl executed it perfectly. It's just the right shape and flops around just how I had envisioned. The size/proportions of the different colored stripes is just perfect.

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionThe bodysuit is very comfortable, and the zipper is in the front and super easy to use. The padding on my suit is sleek and not bulky, making it very easy to walk in. I have also noticed that other suiters get piling of fur between their legs from them rubbing together/chafing, but because my Mo suit is drop crotch, I actually don't have that problem at all! The drop crotch does limit mobility slightly, but I can go up and down stairs and the necessities fine. I just wouldn't be able to drop into the splits in it haha.
Everything fits my body perfectly as well, and I have not had any problems with seams or construction. It is not lined, but I kinda appreciate not having more fabric since fur is obviously a little warm to wear. I have worn the suit in both 100 degree and 30 degree temperatures and I feel that it is not overly stuffy in there at all.

Visual SatisfactionThis is a realistic style suit, and the style of padding as well as the dropped crotch fit captures the tazzie shape quite well! I really love that the padding is more subtle in its digitigrade shape. We decided to have the stomach shaved to shape the suit more and I totally love how that turned out. The markings are not shaved by my request to give a more realistic look to them, and they look perfect.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe handpaws fit well and snugly. The pawpads are silicon, and while I have great dexterity with the paws on, the pawpads are large and restrict some mobility/dexterity. However, compared to most other fursuit paws I have seen and tried on, I can actually pick things up pretty easily in them. They are very easy to get on and off too if I need to use my phone or something.
They are not lined, but they are very comfy inside and I don't feel like they get very sweaty or anything either.

Visual SatisfactionI have smaller hands and we were concerned about where the large claws would hit on my fingers, but I love the way they are kind of upturned! The color of the claws and pads are perfect, and I honestly am a little obsessed with clapping in them because I love the way the silicon pawpads feel too.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is lightweight and cut in a way to mesh perfectly with the drop crotch style suit while also still attaching to me at my natural waist. It is separate from the bodysuit, attaching to a belt through a hole in the bodysuit. It did not come with a belt, so I use one of my own.

Visual SatisfactionSame as the hair, I knew the tail would be a pain in the butt to make, but Howl did a fantastic job with the stripes! It's gorgeous, and the fur is UV reactive even! It looks great with the fullsuit and when partialing. It moves really well too.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionThe feet are constructed around my own running shoes, which makes them extremely comfy and they actually have arch support. They are easy to walk in, and attach to the bodysuit with snaps. The snaps are not the easiest thing to do in the world but honestly I much prefer that to zippers or velcro or other things that the fur could get caught on. It is so easy to slip these on to partial in too! The pawpads are silicon and give the feet a little bit of a springy feel when wearing, which is cool and fun!
I did have a seam pop on my footpaw while at MFF, but a friend was able to fix that up for me quickly. I had previously tripped down some stairs in the suit (my bad) and attribute the seam issue to typical wear and tear.
The only thing I'm not totally satisfied with are the sandals the feetpaws came with. One of the heels came up a little on my first wear and Howl helped me fix it, but sadly they really took a beating at MFF. One of the straps snapped, but I was actually able to keep wearing it like a flip flop so my paw pads didn't get too dirty.

Visual SatisfactionThe feetpaws are small and cute!! Howl also paid a lot of attention to detail with the actual shape of the paw pads on the bottom, since tazzies have uniquely shaped feet.

Final CommentsOverall, I love my suit and think it is very high quality craftsmanship. Obviously everything about it is custom and done by hand, so minor flaws can be expected, but I know if I ever have any issues, Howl is happy to help me in any way. I could not be happier with my suit and my maker!
