Photos of Completed Product I have modified his head since purchase Head Wear Satisfaction The head is comfy and breatheable with a large field of vision. The inside is lined with a soft, lycra-like material (i am unsure) and is a little larger than my head, but still fits well. the mouth is open far enough that you can eat/drink through the gap while wearing it, which helps with breatheablilty. Visual Satisfaction Was shipped as shown in the original advertisement. He is a little lopsided, as the nose and mouth are uneven and the felt around his eyes is asymmetrical. The shaving is decent but around the eyes the glue and fur backing is visible, but the fur is high-quality otherwise. I am happy with the expression however he can look a little strange from the side as the foam carving for his mouth has left a long indent on either side of the face. I have since modified the head to add features such as eyebrows but i knew he had no eyebrows when i first bought him and this is not a maker issue. Hands and Feet Wear Satisfaction HANDPAWS ONLY. The handpaws are a bit large, but i was not asked for any measurements, so there may have been issues if i had smaller hands. The paws are not lined and as such the backing of the fur can be uncomfortable and itchy to wear. The fingertips are stuffed and more comfortable, and the paws seem to be of decent quality with no popped seams or other issues. As they are a bit large they do get loose/almost fall off occasionally but again there were no measurements taken. Visual Satisfaction The paws are nice to look at and i quite like the embroidery around the pawpads (which are vinyl). the shaving is rather noticeably choppy and uneven around the fingers, resulting in me trimming down the fur myself on both hands. Tails Wear Satisfaction The tail is a small bobtail that is worn with a belt. The beltloops are a bit small and i have been worried about them potentially busting but nothing has happened yet. Visual Satisfaction The tail part itself is good and as requested. however, the base is attatched rather roughly and the stitching and glue is visible while wearing. I am paranoid of the base and beltloops busting and falling off but they have been sturdy so far despite appearances Overall Product Satisfaction How well does everything fit together and match up? Yes. As a premade i had no input on the design/colours and they were made to all go together. Overall Project Quality I’m very happy with my suit, i enjoy wearing him even if i don’t have the ability to a lot. i feel like he is very much “what i paid for” as a discount suit with noticeable stitching/gluing and his funky head shape, but i love him regardless. Purchase Process Initial Contact The maker advertised two partial premades for sale via twitter. i responded via DMs with questions/requests for additional pictures, got a response quickly but not the pictures for two more days and repeatedly asking for updates. Maker Response Time Sugarnspice are known for their terrible delays and this was also true for me. i had to repeatedly bug them for information, they would promise me updates on a date and never provide them and delayed shipping the suit for two months for unknown reasons. I contacted them via twitter and email and seemed to contact different parties at each who both gave me new etas that passed without any updates. Maker Professionalism They are also known for poor professionalism and this hasn’t improved. while they were friendly they would ignore messages for days, scold me for contacting them on the wrong days (which i was not aware of beforehand) and refuse to provide any updates. i eventually had to threaten a paypal chargeback to get bee shipped 2 months after the original eta. Project Completion Time The original advertised completion time (for the tail and paws to go with the completed head) was halloween. when i contacted and paid for the suit, i was given a date a week or two before halloween. both these dates passed and i messaged them several times for updates and was ignored or given a new eta that also passed. i was not shown any wips of the paws/tail or even told that they were finished before december, by that time i had said that if the suit wasn’t shipped soon i would file a paypal dispute as buyer protection was running out. i finally got pictures of these the day he was shipped. he was delayed in customs for 15 days after being shipped (potentially due to christmas holidays) on december 19 and arrived january 9. while sugarnspice have a public trello it did not update at all and i wasn’t even sure if i was on the trello. Final Comments Sugarnspice are somewhat infamous for their terrible customer service and this is still the case, something i wish i knew before purchasing. they are awful at providing updates, ignore customer inquiries and cannot meet a deadline to save themselves. i’m glad i only purchased a premade partial as by other customers’ accounts if it was any more i probably still wouldn’t have my suit. As mentioned above, i had to threaten a paypal dispute to get my premade and mostly completed suit finally shipped two months past the original purchase date. i love my suit but i would highly highly recommend getting yours from a different maker.
