I was introduced to them through my friend. Contact was through telegram and was easy to understand.
They replied quickly, and didn't give me any negative emotion, but it did feel as though they were rushing at times.
Project was completed and shipped within 2 months. It was pretty straightforward, they did not give an estimated completion time until they mentioned they were going on vacation, to which they finished the head before leaving.
Was happy when received, but did not start noticing issues till later. These issues have not been brought up with the maker. I acknowledge that this was a custom head for a trade, but there are still a few possible issues;
•The maker and I discussed them not doing scales, I am okay with this but they did not include the "tear" markings that were shown on the coloured reference.
•When asked about changing the horn shape to better fir the character, I was told i'd be able to do it myself because of the material; that being said I find it difficult to do so since the fleece will change shape if bumped.
•The iris/eyes of the character are weirdly sticky for some reason, and a part of the eyeliner is already peeling off.
•A few months after receiving, I also noticed that one of the spikes were coming off/wasn't sewn on very well. This is something I am able to fix myself but I don't think it was my fault since i've barely worn it.
•This head came with magnetic eyelids which were shown off on the head, but were never shown on the head upright/being on the head while it is being worn. The eyelids do not stick very well to the head, and fall off very easily, especially when being worn but they will fall off even if the head is sitting upright with no movement.
•Jaw moves, but does not snap closed when not being worn/mouth hangs open.
When initially discussing the trade, the maker did not give an estimated time of completion until they mentioned going on vacation, I have reason to believe they they may have rushed their work.
I have barely worn this head and it has mostly been sitting on a mannequin head for the past year. I am very greatful because this was my first fursuit head, but i'm slightly disappointed that it isn't a little more accurate to my reference and has some issues.
It feels fine to wear, tends to slip up my face into the wrong position at times, but it's fine otherwise. I can breathe and see just fine.
Head looks okay at first glance, but is missing a few details that werr in the reference sheet. At least looks like the character otherwise but there are a few underlying problems.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would NOT recommend Maws and Claws unless they significantly change their practices.

Not sure if it’s being viewed as a negative. But fursuits that don’t have elastic in their moving jaws to “snap” closed is normal. It’s just a build preference. Some do it, some don’t!
Also, why not bring up the issues? Was their something else that went on to make you reconsider that?
Lastly, it may vary from maker to maker, but the few times I’ve done a trade only once did we give eachother firm deadlines. I don’t know if that’s common vs. a commission because of the nature of it.
