Overall

Initial ContactThe maker and I were friends prior to the commissioning of the suit so I was able to contact them and get a quote very easily. We had initially spoken about me commissioning the suit prior on Twitter (it was going to be a gift for my partner) but, at the time they wanted to clear some other projects from their queue first. After a few months, in October of 2020, the maker then contacted me again over Discord saying they were ready to accept the project. The transaction was done entirely through Discord from that point on, with payment made through Paypal over a payment plan. The maker was very easy to work with initially and let me know exactly what was all needed measurement wise.

Maker CommunicationThe overall communication with the maker was absolutely horrible and really where this entire thing became a hassle. While initial communication was good, after the suit was fully paid off I would go months without hearing from the maker. I was always the one who had to instigate conversations, and it often took them days, weeks, and sometimes even months to get back to me, if at all. To their benefit, they did remain nice and courteous when we did speak but, overall, the lack of communication was horrible. I received very little WIP photos, often having to press for any (there are certain parts I never received any photos of at all) and they didn't even collaborate with us to choose fur colors. They did offer a custom fursuit prop of plushie at one point in the exchange to try and make up for the long wait a communication issues, to which I accepted, asking if they could make a pair of glasses for the suit since the character does wear glasses. They said they would do that but, ultimately I never received them. They were not shipped with the suit and the maker never responded back to me after I mentioned they were missing. I had also asked for fur swatches, which the maker agreed to send too, so I could try and color match the furs for when we wanted to upgrade the suit to a fullsuit since, as mentioned, the maker never collaborated with us on picking out furs and, when I asked them, couldn't remember where the furs came from or what they were called. This too was never received.

Project Completion TimeMultiple ETAs were missed. I had finished paying the suit off the very beginning of January 2021 with the project supposed to be finished by or prior to June 2021 for Colossalcon. The maker assured me it'd be finished by then but, even after contacting the maker a month prior to the due date to make sure things are ok and still on track because I haven't heard any updates on the suit whatsoever at that time, to which the maker again assured me it'd be done by then, saying they work fast, by the time the due date rolled around they had supposedly only just ordered materials. After that I was strung along with a handful of other ETAs they gave me being passed also (about 3-4 ETAs were passed total). Even when they finally told me the suit was ready to ship it was a whole month before I had to contact them again to get them to actually ship it.

Overall Project QualityOverall the project quality is okay, especially considering this maker has only made a small handful of suits so far. Seams seem sturdy and nothing has torn or popped on us yet. The issues we do have are rather minor and don't take away from the visual of the suit a lot. I would say the product itself was worth the price I paid!

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe fit is a little snug but, nothing that is uncomfortable. The chin is the snuggest area and presses tightly on the face. This seems to be an attempted moving jaw but, doesn't work (works great for airflow though). We cannot figure out what exactly was used for the lining but, it is some kind of thin, cotton material (almost like a t-shirt). It was stitched in well but loosely, leaving a lot of bunched fabric and does not absorb sweat very well. Cleaning is not very easy. Ventilation is good due to the opened mouth on the suit! If there is a gust out the head is very breathable and can be worn for quite awhile. Vision could be better. The material itself can be seen through decently well but, was installed poorly, leaving waves in the mesh that make vision rather spotty. Almost no vision in low light.

Visual SatisfactionFor the most part the design and markings match the character very well! The only issue seen is color matching. The maker did not collaborate with me to decide fur colors (except for one where they couldn't decide the color themselves) leading to some slightly mismatched colors (some oranges not matching others). Shaving is good, no complaints! Material itself feels good! All fur is soft and all markings are crisp. Appearance of the head is to satisfaction for the most part. Two areas that could be improved upon is the eyes; They are made of thin, flimsy craft foam with mesh that is loosely glued on, making the entire eye have waves in the material and just overall not sturdy. And the jaw; Only one side of the lower jaw is sewed into the lining, pulling it to one side and making the jaw partially crooked at times. The fursuit head's appearance does match the concept art pretty well! The resin teeth are our favorite part and match the reference perfectly.

Upper Body

Wear SatisfactionThe fursuit sleeves are comfortable to wear and provide great mobility! Durability has been great so, far, no popped seams or tears. The sleeves do not have any lining and is just the fur with an elastic band sewn to attach the two. Cleaning is easy for them! Airflow as expected for fursuit sleeves.

Visual SatisfactionVisually the sleeves are perfect, all marking match the reference for the character! No shaving was done for the sleeves and while the furs are slightly different lengths, it is nothing that is visually bothering. Again, the material used is soft and easy to brush through, with the markings being crisp. Overall we are pretty satisfied with the colors but, collaboration to pick colors would've been appreciated to select more accurate ones. Everything matches the concept art!

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe paws fit snuggly but in a comfortable, form-fitting manner. Movement and dexterity is great, especially for what the product is! Wrists do not show if wearing long sleeves or the fursuit sleeves due to the good cuff length of the paws. Very easy to get on! Paws are completely plush but, no popped seams or tears have occurred yet. Durability seems rather sturdy! The paws are lined and have sewn in cuffs too that make wearing very comfortable. The lining material is unknown but, seems to be another cotton material. But, cleaning is rather easy!

Visual SatisfactionMarkings all match the character design, the only complaint being that some of the claws are sewn in slightly crooked. Shaving is decent for the most part but does get a bit choppy around the wrists/palms. The fur colors and minky used for the claws and pawpads are to satisfaction! The shape of the handpaw is absolutely perfect and matches the reference to a T.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionWhile the tail size is great, overall we are not satisfied with it. It is comfortable to wear but, the combination of the belt loops being placed in the center of the very large base, and the base not being backed with something sturdy makes it flop over, leaving and awkward lump and gap between the wearer and the base of the tail. Quality seems to be ok but, there was supposed to be a zipper to allow us to stuff and unstuff the tail for travel and we have yet to find it (maker did say they installed it and we will keep looking in case it really just is hidden in the fur really well. If found the review will be updated). But, since the zipper has yet to be found the tail is only partially stuffed and fairly floppy/flat.

Visual SatisfactionVisually the tail is ok, markings matching its reference for the most part. Spots on the tip of the tail were omitted without our knowledge. The maker did ask if I wished for them to shave the tail and I denied saying it'd be fine, under the assumption all the furs were of the same shag length. Upon arrival I found out some furs on the tail were significantly longer than others, making it look slightly awkward. This decision was partially my fault but, I wish this had been explained to me or even shown to me prior. I received no pictures of the tail at all throughout this entire process to know what it looked like.

NO This review has been marked with a negative rating.
This means the reviewer would NOT recommend LRKCreations unless they significantly change their practices.

Final CommentsWhile the suit itself is decent and we are fairly happy with it, I would not recommend this maker purely due to their business practices. Their poor communication skills were extremely frustrating and left me wondering if I would even receive the suit in the first place. I received very little, or rather no, collaboration for the materials picked for the suit and had to fight just to receive the minimal amount of WIP photos I did get from them. It was very clear their priorities lied elsewhere because they were very active online with other things, streaming nearly daily, yet was an absolute struggle to get in contact with during this project's process. And promised items, such as the fursuit glasses and fur swatches, were just never sent. At one point in this process I had even asked for a refund on some small plushies I had ordered alongside the fursuit, begging them to focus on the suit instead. I was told the plushies couldn't be refunded despite not even having been started yet.
