I directly messaged the creator through instagram it was pretty easy.
We started the commission via instagram, then moved to telegram. I feel as if i was not treated well as i was left in the dark for 3 years as I watched him create multiple commissions without ever reaching out to me despite having been paying it off for a long time. He ordered the fur and it still took a LONG time before the commission was even started. I heard a lot of reasoning for why things were not going ahead or why we were behind on the deadline, but it could have been avoided if this was started when I had paid it all off.
This project took over 3 years. I was placed onto a google form and watched other peoples come before mine and get finished. I was told the turn around time was april 2023 in april 2022 as I had taken a bit longer to pay off the suit. I said that was fine. I received the finished goods in september 2024. My goods were directly dropped at my home, when i was not even there. I was not told they were coming that day until i got a text at work saying he was there.
Overall, this project was not worth it. I waited over 3 years to receive something subpar, when I could have taken my money elsewhere and gotten something so much better. I feel like parts of the project were rushed, despite the huge amount of time there was to finish it, and there was not a lot of care put into it. I feel as if the creator just wanted to get this over and done with so that he could blacklist me and move on. I originally paid $2035~ AUD for a full partial, containing a head, feet paws, hand paws and tail. The head fell through heavily due to my maker not having the correct fur for the head despite telling me it was good and ordering it years before hand. I was refunded $600 but I still feel like this was not worth $1500.
The hand paws fit a bit tightly to my hands as I was never asked for any measurements at all. It is a bit difficult to put both on by myself but I expected that. The interior is a custom printed fabric which is quite nice, which differs from the feet paws. My hands don't sweat as much with that fabric. The claws look weird when i move my fingers because they are sewn oddly.
The claws on the paws do not face the same directions, and are pretty flat. The shaving is extremely choppy and the stripes are not blended AT ALL. It is a huge eyesore for me and when I move my hands it is extremely noticeable. There are seams everywhere that are quite visible, and edges of fabric that have not been concealed. The paw beans have very visible stitching around the edges. The paws are barely stuffed and look extremely flat. There was also fur shavings/extra fluff that came from working on the suit attached when I received it, meaning the maker did not brush through the suit properly, or clean up their work space.
The tail is a bit heavy, but as it is a larger tail I expected that. The belt loop is a bit small, making it hard for my belts to fit through.
The shaving is extremely choppy and the stripes are not blended AT ALL. When i move the tail it is very obvious, even with brushing it down. There was also fur shavings/extra fluff that came from working on the suit attached when I received it, meaning the maker did not brush through the suit properly, or clean up their work space. The tail does NOT sway at all and instead moves very awkwardly, making it look very stiff.
The paws use a white quilted fabric, and I find myself sweating much more with this fabric. They fit okay, a bit snug but its fine. I can walk in them fine. They are not outside paws so I don't expect them to be very durable without some kind of cover.
(Similar issues with hand paws)

Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would NOT recommend Butter Cup Creations unless they significantly change their practices.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to write your review, I’d like to share my side of the experience and clear up a few misunderstandings.

Communication & Timeline
You’re absolutely right, this project took far longer than it should have. I was behind on multiple projects due to a number of serious life events that happened back-to-back including potential homelessness.
(Thus the reasoning to having so many commissions, coms was paying my rent for a little while & a failed multiple maker business added to the list of coms as I had to take them on as well, without any compensation due to the other makers not doing their half of the work or paying rent at the time, thus having to dig myself out of the financial hole they put me in. I was working constantly and If I could do their suit quicker I would.)
I explained these delays as they occurred and kept posting updates in my WIP channel throughout your time in the queue.
While I understand you felt left in the dark, many of those updates were visible publicly and your suit stayed in its original queue position throughout. I do prioritize clients who are fully paid off, that’s been a consistent part of my workflow and is clearly outlined in my terms. During the time you were still making payments, other projects that were fully paid for did get completed sooner.
That said, once your payments were completed, I did begin focusing on your project and rushed to finish it, aware of the delay.

The Fur Issue & Refund
I did make an honest mistake with the two-toned grey fur. On-screen, it looked like it would offer the right contrast. Once I started assembling the head, I saw it blended too much and lacked definition. I offered to completely replace the fur at no extra cost, which you declined. You requested a refund instead and I refunded you $600, which was a significant portion of the total, in good faith.
You later mentioned that you would have accepted the head if you knew it was almost finished. I genuinely had no idea you’d changed your mind. From our messages, I understood you no longer wanted the head or any extras. You left no room for any other option, but a refund.
⸻
Work Quality
I regret that the suit didn’t meet your expectations. I admit I was rushing to complete overdue work at the time, and it showed. That is entirely on me. Since then, I’ve made several changes:
• I no longer order unfamiliar furs without first seeing physical swatches.
• All suits are cleaned, brushed, and double-checked before shipping.
• I’ve improved my finishing work and blending techniques so seams and stripes appear much cleaner going forward. (It was especially choppy work on your suit because the two toned fur, it was hard to cut and make look neat while still keeping the colour. I do wish I had of mentioned the fur issue sooner, when I first noticed it while finishing up the paws but I thought I could fix it but I was wrong.
⸻
WIPs & Transparency
I understand you were upset that WIPs were shared in channels you weren’t watching. I do post WIPs regularly in my designated WIP server, that’s how I keep multiple clients informed. But I always message the commissioner first for parts that require approval.
⸻
Packaging & Delivery
I agree that dropping the suit off in a plastic bag without proper warning or labeling wasn’t ideal or professional. Originally, I offered to hand-deliver it for free instead of charging you for shipping, since you lived nearby at the time. Even after I moved a fair while away, more then an hour, I still made the trip to deliver it in person to get it to you faster.
Yes, the delivery felt rushed, but that was because the tone of communication suddenly shifted. It went from “I’m happy to wait” to “I want a refund and the parts now,” with no room for middle ground. That sudden pressure was jarring and honestly demotivating. At that point, it felt like nothing I could do would satisfy you, and I’ll admit my response reflected that. I still followed through, but I didn’t put the care into the final step that I normally would, not out of malice, but because I felt like the effort wouldn’t be acknowledged either way.
⸻
Regarding the scent spray: It was a free extra and if you had asked, I would’ve provided the ingredient list without hesitation. I do all my labels by hand and at the moment, upgrading to printed stickers isn’t in the budget.
That said, I’ll be adding full ingredient details to my website in the next update so this information is always accessible.
I also find it a bit odd that, knowing there were allergy concerns in your household, you didn’t ask about the spray ingredients when I first mentioned it during our early discussions. That would have been the time to raise any issues.
⸻
On the Blacklist
I don’t take blacklisting lightly. It’s only used when communication becomes combative, or I feel unsafe or disrespected. I understand your frustrations were real and I respect that you spoke up about them. But I also have boundaries as a maker and felt the working relationship had broken down beyond repair. That decision was not made out of spite, it was made for my mental well-being.
⸻
Final Thoughts
I do wish this project had gone differently for both of us. I truly wanted you to love the suit, and I did what I could with the time and circumstances I was in. I’ve taken your feedback seriously and changed many aspects of my workflow since. I’m still growing as a maker and a business owner, and while I know this doesn’t change your experience, I hope it shows that I’m committed to doing better.
While I’m still chipping away at the queue, I’m not taking on any more commissions until the current queue is down to one, then I’ll have a max of two coms or less at all times.
