I contacted the maker on Furaffinity for their emergency slot commissions. She made it clear of what she needed from me and I rushed to get the money and duct tape dummy to her immediately.
The maker’s communication was abysmal. Getting a response after the money was sent was extremely difficult and often I was left in the dark about what was happening with my fursuit. Replies became short when asking about when my project would be finished. Lupe suffers from chronic migraines, and would often use that as an excuse to ignore customers. I understand that it’s a medical condition that debilitates, but their business etiquette shouldn’t be dependent on that, especially when they’re dealing with such large sums of money.
The project took 3-4 years, greatly surpassing the initial (and then several other) time frames. I was left in the dark multiple times. The shipping was the only time something came on time
For the price, I am happy with the quality of the fursuit. There are a few things I wish were created differently or more diligently, but I understand that this is a hand made product. Everything lines up relatively well, and the fur has stood the last few years I’ve had it – with slight yellowing – which is great.
The head itself is comfortable. It’s roomy, but I’m used to it. It is significantly heavier than any other fursuit head I’ve tried. The vision and ventilation are decent and it is lined with sports fabric, making cleaning easy.
Overall, I can notice slight asymmetry (which is to be expected from a hand made item) and a few bald patches. Specifically, bald patches where I requested her horns to be moved from, as Lupe didn’t follow the reference sheet properly. The black fur used is drastically different from the quality of other furs and has an almost shiny texture. The shaving is quite choppy which highlights the textural differences in fur. The expression of the head is great, and it does match the reference given. The fur used (I’m assuming luxury shag) is awful to brush and looks matted very easily.
This fursuit is extremely hot to wear. The construction of the upper body is great, albeit lazy stitching and a few left over sharpie markings (which had once bled out on the white on her arms).
There are no complaints on the top half of the bodysuit.
The hands are far too big for my hands, despite it being a “one size fits all” pattern. I have had to stuff the fingers more to accommodate my hand size. I had commissioned this suit when I was a minor, which the maker had known about, so I feel as if some sort of sizing should’ve been offered. I have to constantly adjust my paws, otherwise they fall off my hands. They are unlined and quite rough on the inside, but I do like the cuffing to hide the edge. There are a few popped seams between the fingers that I haven’t noticed until recently.
I wish the beans were stuffed and the paws themself fit better, but they look great otherwise. Lupe didn’t follow my instructions when I asked for colours to be substituted out on the fingers, so it is slightly inaccurate to her design.
Once I had received my fursuit, one of the legs was twisted on the inside, making it horrible to put on. The removable padding is great, but it is difficult to have to replace it with each wear. Once again, it is extremely warm to wear and the legs are difficult to move in.
Other than the flaws with wearing, the suit itself looks great. The padding in the legs makes the digi look off, however.
The tail is comfy. I had a friend remove it from the bodysuit for easier storage and wear and it is much better this way. The feathers had bled colour after the first wash and were already falling apart.
The tail matches the concept art except for a few spots. Overall, I’m happy with the appearance.
There is no grip on the inside of her feet, which means I’m susceptible to slipping or falling over because of how slippery it is. The feet have a plastic bottom which traps moisture in if you try to clean them. It is an awful experience to try to wash a fullsuit that doesn’t come apart in the slightest as it is so heavy.
They look as described, they’re just awful to wear unfortunately.
