Due to everyday use, some teeth fell out of the fursuit head along with a horn cracking and paint coming off, but it was replaced efficiently after organising some repairs along some complimentary new eyes and eyelids!

Overall

Initial ContactI originally contacted FireDog on Facebook Messenger after a friend recommendation, enquiring about how much her services would cost. Within the hour, she came back to me with a quote and steps on what she needed to carry out the commission. She was extremely patient and respectful with how long it took me to work up the funds to afford the quote, reassuring me a spot on her commission queue regardless of how long it took.

Maker CommunicationFireDog is very professional with their communication, and they will always try to respond to you within a day. Whenever I had a query, I always got a response sometimes within the hour, or by the end of the day, and would always be updated on progress with the suit during the commission. Upon commissioning the accessories, they provided me constant updates with those as well, finishing them by the end of the week.

Project Completion TimeThe suit was completed just a couple of months after the maker recieved the materials needed which blew me away. FireDog sent the suit to me with tracking information and updates, with next day postage so I was able to receive the suit just a day after it was complete! I did not receive an ETA due to the materials taking a while to arrive, but it was done efficiently and finished with no corners cut.

Overall Project QualityAs an update to my original review, I am still absolutely over the moon with my suit and its new additions.

The quality of the fur chosen, the overall structure of the head and colour choice, with the new horns and eyes are just perfect and the maker still continues to exceed my expectations with what she comes up with. As always, it was definitely worth the price I paid for the suit, and I would have happily paid more. Comfort is fantastic still, and everyone I meet at my local furmeet has complimented the style and how cute the boy looks with his new eyes and accessories! Even after using him as much as I have, the suit still looks the same as it did when I unboxed him, no signs of damage or seams popping. The style is exactly what I wanted, and he remains as photogenic and adorable as he always is!

I would also like to add that I recieved the repairs and upgrades free of charge which is absolutely mind-blowing.

This suit is, as always, an absolute joy to wear, and FireDog has produced an absolutely incredible fursuit with the challenging brief that they had.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe heads fits tightly around my head with next to no comfort issues at all. With some adjustment, it sits perfectly resting underneath my chin and barely putting any pressure on my nose. Visibility is excellent, and I can see a lot more than other suits that I have tried on in the past. Friends that have also put the head on mention how much vision there is, and the new 3D printed eyes definitely help with the vision as they are no longer hand painted. There are some blind spots where the snout blocks a lot of your lower view (this is a given since being a dragon is an occupational hazard), but in terms of how far I have to turn to see, not very much at all. The ventilation is perfect as I can breathe easily with no issues and very rarely do I sweat inside the head due to ideal circulation and the use of a balaclava.

The head is well built, sturdy and very very comfortable, very high quality for the price I paid. Not to mention it is SUPER lightweight, and the only issues are my own clumsiness going through doorways. In one such instance of said clumsiness, I unfortunately bumped my head into a doorway, snapped one of the horns and took paint off the other. Upon contacting the maker, she responded quickly, and created some new ones with her new 3D printer, using a solid acrylic and paint which is, to this day, still yet to show signs of wear and tear.

Seriously, if you're a dragon, I feel your pain. Doorways are not our friends, especially where horns are concerned.

Visual SatisfactionThe eyes by far the one of the best parts of the entire suit. To provide an update from my last review, FireDog provided me with their new method of doing follow-me eyes, 3D printing them instead of hand painting, and they certainly do not disappoint. Not only does it make my dork of a dragon look absolutely precious, but also giving off his signature personality trait of cookies! You can definitely tell what his cravings are now, especially with the eyes following you around.

All parts of the design are symmetrical, with the final product getting very very close to the original reference provided. Sacrifices had to be made due to the complex nature of the design that I gave to the maker, but with the tools that they had, they did a phenomenal job. All fur is well kept and soft, no glue or any staining and each marking resembling that of the reference image, with the colours matching perfectly. Very rarely do I see fur coming out when I brush the suit to maintain it which is very impressive. The happy expression makes the head look incredibly photogenic and can be seen from all angles as happy and bouncy which is exactly what I was looking for when commissioning the suit.

All in all, I am thrilled with the fursuit head. Super high quality material and end product with the new additions fitting in perfectly. An all around perfect fit for my sona.

Upper Body

Wear SatisfactionThe arm sleeves remain great quality and are of fantastic comfort. They're not too tight that they cut circulation, but are prone to slipping after intense movements which can be solved with tighter clothing. After rigorous use, nor threading, lining or fur has come out of the sleeves, and they are exactly how I first unboxed them over a year ago. Very rarely do I sweat either with these sleeves on as the airflow is a perfect balance on being able to keep me cool in the summer, but also staying warm in the winter with underarmour blocking any sweat or skin irritation which I would recommend to any new suiter. The elastic band that runs from both sleeves is a great way of keeping them together, and has also been incredibly sturdy and robust, with not a single sign of wear and tear having used the suit for as much as I have.

As an accessory, I approached the maker with an idea of creating a cookie cape for me wear while walking around, and she got to work immediately with a very good price offered. This was done in under a week, and the cape was delivered to me the next day. Whenever I wear the suit, it doesn't feel complete without this accessory, and it is of great comfort to wear and easy to put on, with adorable fabric cookies expertly stitched onto them. So cute!

Visual SatisfactionMuch like the head, the colours are perfect and the design is exactly what I was looking for. The spots are a little high on the arm sleeves and can sometimes be covered by clothing, but can be solved with pulling the sleeves down slightly or using smaller sleeved shirts. Creative liberty was given and they certainly did not disappoint with what was provided to me. The cape is also adorable to look at, and luckily nobody has tried to eat it yet! Expertly stitched and wonderful to look at, with no lining issues or any signs of damage despite how often I wear it.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe hand paws are perfection for both bapping (gently), booping, high fives (or fours) and giving the best hugs. Not only are they huge, but also of great comfort. They have an elastic base that fits snugly around my wrists and can be tucked underneath the arm sleeves with some help. No wear and tear on the paws at all and are also robust and strongly lined, with no signs of threads coming apart. Due to my hands sweating a lot, I got some sweat proof gloves that go underneath the paws, and since then I have had no trouble with my hands overheating. Even with the gloves on, the paws never give me the feeling that they are going to slip off. The claws are of great design also, and due to strong lining and stitchwork, none have come off or shown signs of damage.

Visual SatisfactionSame with the rest of the suit, the colours are perfect, with the paw pads and claws resembling the reference image perfectly.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionDue to the fact that I have very little protection for it and do not have a suitable belt to hold the tail, I have not been able to wear it as often as I would like to. However, from the times that I have worn it, it is a little top heavy and can be uncomfortable if you do not have the right type of belt for it. That however, is the client's problem. As much the same with the other fursuit parts that I received, it shows no sign of breaking or any seams popping. The fabric is of high quality, and everything is carefully crafted and put together for both flexibility and durability. The tail can be curled and can be held if going up stairs or to avoid dirty floors, perfect for packing too. I have conversed with FireDog previously about making a cover for the tail, which I am defintiely going to go for in the future.

Visual SatisfactionThe tail is of gorgeous design and I was certainly lucky to be a part of FireDog's most incredible ones. With beautiful markings and symmetrical spines running all the way down to the base of the tail, she has taken into careful consideration the design of the tailblade, and has produced a wonderful representation of a very complex design, which I am absolutely thrilled with. The purple tiger marks and spots are just the right size, running along next to the spines and The colours match the reference like the rest of the suit, and the fur is soft and well kept. The base of the tail is carefully crafted and resembles that of a dragon's tail perfectly, with grooves put along the bottom of it to resemble underbelly plates, looking forward to a possible fullsuit which will line up with the design perfectly.

I was in absolute awe when I received it, and the amount of work and passion that was put into the tail was absolutely phenomenal. She made over 20 spines for the suit in total. Her poor wrists! If you are thinking of getting a tail along with your suit, I would highly recommend FireDog as your maker.
