I initially asked for a quote for only handpaws and then it was updated to a partial. I knew this maker because of a corgi suit they had done and I fell in love with their style.
The maker communicated alright and was overall professional. If they had issues, they'd tell me.
Although, it took quite a while to have updates, sometimes one small update every month or other, sometimes more.
It took way longer than expected. I wasn't left totally in the dark and the maker didn't ghost me too many times but I had to be really patient about my commission… And well, I did receive it eventually.
There was a lot of ETA's missed and passed. I did not ask for a specific completion date and was always understanding of the maker's personal issues and such but it could've been a better experience overall.
Overall, I am happy to have my first-ever fursuit! This character means the world to me, and Fenivira did a wonderful job bringing her to life. The craftsmanship is high quality, and the suit feels durable enough to last a very long time.
One thing I will change on my own is adding padding to the inside of her head to better fit me.
While I love the final product, there were a few areas during the process that could have been handled with a bit more care.
The turnaround time was quite long, ETA's weren't met lots of times and the communication along the way definitely could have been stronger.
When the package arrived, it contained only the partial. While extras like fur samples or a care guide aren't mandatory, I feel like they are standard practice for most makers.
Missing those small touches made the final handoff feel a bit rushed and careless—which felt ironic given how long the wait was.
Throughout the process, it felt a bit like the maker might not be enjoying this line of work, seemingly dealing with a lot of personal stress and burnout. While understandable, it isn't ideal for the commission experience.
I don’t want to focus too heavily on the negatives, because the final result is great. Fenivira clearly has a lot of potential and talent.
I truly want to see them improve and succeed in the future, and I hope things get easier and smoother for them moving forward. I am incredibly grateful either way.
Mizuki's head is wonderful in almost everything.
Visibility is awesome, as well as ventilation. There is a LOT of space inside the head, which can be great for a lot of people that struggle with tight places.
She is comfortable and easy to put in.
For me, personally, since I've tried other heads on after Mizuki (My first time ever experiencing wearing a fursuit or even seeing one), I sometimes wish she was a little more snug inside.
The way she was built, what is holding my head is a single strap built to my head size but the front part of the head is a little more to the heavy side so I am not able to move my head a lot or it will fall forward or move out of place. The strap doesn't stuck very well to my head, not because it isn't the right size, but I believe because it's a little high and it slides off if I move too harshly. Also due to the heaviness of the front part of the head.
It is lined with lycra and it's a great material. I haven't had problems with heat while wearing her and she is easy to clean and maintain.
I believe overall she looks beautiful. At the time, I was head over heals about how cute and unique she looked!
She is symmetrical and the markings did match her reference quite well at the time.
The shaving is great and I've only spotted like one small bald spot since I have her, which is literally nothing. You really have to be ON her to notice.
The furs are high quality and feel very soft! They match somewhat well. There isn't a lot of purples that 100% match her original ref but I think the purple the suit has is really pretty and was the right choice, overall. Originally she had two shades of purple, one for markings and hair and another for nose, pawpads and eyebrows. We ended up using one shade of purple for the suit for simplicity which, honestly, works!
Since then, I've also made slight changes to the character in coloring and such to better match her suit, so it all worked out in the end too!
Her happy expression matches her very well! The maker did their best to make her look more corgi-like, which I appreciate. She is very mascot-y in a good way, the kids love her!
She is somewhat simple looking but simple is great too.
She has follow-me eyes and sadly, I did not commission any eyelids but will in the future!
Her nose also has a squeaker which is easily my favourite part of the suit!
The paws are overall comfortable but really hard to put in. They have a LOT of stuffing in the finger parts and I usually have to ask for help to put the other one on.
In the time I wear them, I have to adjust them from time to time. My hands being small don't help that part either…
Due to the size of my hands in comparison to the size of the paws, which are a little big – My movement is not the greatest. But I don't think that's abnormal for most toony fursuit paws.
The interior is lined with lycra as well and is very soft and comfy.
They seem very durable and very well-made though! They have no claws.
The paws look great, the materials are soft and high quality.
The shaving work is great overall too and they match the reference perfectly!
The tail is big but I don't mind wearing it.
The tail had two straps on the base, one higher and one lower. I'm not entirely sure why but I don't mind it much since it's hidden. The straps are hard and durable, good quality.
The second tail that was made (which is seen on the photos) is overall great. It matches the markings and my vision of Mizuki quite well!
The tail, since it's a little more to the bigger size, it doesn't move a lot and is sometimes hard to deal with such as when I want to sit down. But nothing too bad! I enjoy my tail.
Although, since I have it, I wish it was more upright and maybe smaller. I'd love to have a waggier tail.
Overall, it's still pretty and works well!
The feet are SO comfortable!! They feel like comfy slippers.
They are one size fits all. My feet are really small (EUR size 35 – EUA size 4) and so the feetpaws look huge on me and hard a little hard to walk in, but so comfortable. The material inside is also lycra and is padded, it's like wearing pillows on your feet!
I do not wear my feetpaws a lot because I personally don't love the look of partials with big feetpaws.
They look alright overall, the markings are correct and symmetrical.
They look big but not too big and it will probably look better on a fullsuit.
She has a squeaker inside her nose!
It works perfectly, although you have to really press it for it to make a noise and people overall seem scared to do it. It's loud and well-hidden. She has been washed and has been to snow enviroments and the squeaker still works great and has the same sound.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer MIGHT recommend Bite Me Fursuits depending on circumstances that have been clarified in this review.
I personally feel like maybe this isn't something this maker enjoys doing a lot and seems to deal with a lot of personal stress and burn-out often, which is not ideal. I wish the best for them and hopefully things will improve.
