Wear Satisfaction

It was just too narrow and short, prolonged wearing during a walk ended with a massive headache due to the stress on my head. It was a about a 1.5 to 2 hour walk before it had to take it off, because it was too uncomfortable. The hinges of the jaw on inside was not sanded down and razor sharp, I could feel it scathing my cheeks quite a lot when opening the mouth.

Neck fur was too short and skin was visible when I was looking down in the fullsuit.

After the head was “Repaired” it was returned even smaller, cannot be worn by me at all.

Vision was very good no issues here.

Ventilation was limited due to the hinges issue and over all Ok.

Visual Satisfaction

Overall the head did not live up to my expectations as the muzzle appears very round and “Horse” like compared to narrow snoot on the Art provided. Yet the shape of the was very narrow and doesn’t quite match the body when put together in proportions.
Head was missing details, marks and the distinct eyebrows, overall very little air brushing.

Ears were pointing outwards not following the horns.
Multiple Ear plugs were requested and granted but never received.
There was no upper jaw / teeth set, but maker told me later that this was common from her suits unless specifically requested.
There were holes around the horns.

Has the Mohawk that connects to the body by NFT, it looks nice.

Special Attachments and Features

Exchangeable ear plugs – feel very flimsy and fragile, overall the cast feels low quality and doesn’t match the look. Black and Red plugs requested but only White were provided. In my head I had hoped for “Normal” stretches with big holes, but on the head they are massive disks screwed together with a tiny screw.
Fan was requested and paid for, was never installed. Maker offered refund but it was rejected by me.

Wear Satisfaction

Very comfortable and breathable, there is room for a cooling vest underneath.
Digi padding is easy to install and take out for cleaning.
Tail is connected by zipper and is also quite easy to put on.

Zipper is very hard to use and gets stuck in fur quite easily.
Legs are a bit too short and results in visible ankles in certain poses.
Many raw edges on the seams inside of the suit and with fur poking through, this gets stuck in the velcro on the cooling vest.

Visual Satisfaction

Body looks very good and I am quite satisfied here.
the Shaven scales look great.
Matches the art very well.

Hands and Feet

Wear Satisfaction

Hands and Feet are quite comfortable to wear and fits quite well.
Very satisfied

Visual Satisfaction

Looks perfect, feet are very big and chumpy as requested.
Hands are small and with nice claws.
Very satisfied.

Wear Satisfaction

First tail is nice to wear and have a good weight to it and attaches easily to the body suit.
However it is a danger to glassware in crowed situations like cons at tables / bars, as it is very pointy and goes straight back from the body with very little droopage, this was originally not requested in the order but it was made quickly and without prior authentication, later agreed to “Leave as is”.
This tail ripped a seam after the first use at a walk, this was repaired by the maker.

Later commissioned maker for a smaller more Con friendly tail, which it is, tiny and very droopy.
Just as easy to use as the above one.

Both high quality in materials.

Visual Satisfaction

First tail looks very big, cool and raptor like.
Very high quality, but was not the requested design.

Second tail looks very small, droopy and dolphin like.
Ok quality, was the requested design, but looks a little sad.

Product Satisfaction

How was your concept art realized?
For the body it fits quite well, but the head while it did try to stay within the design, it didn’t live up to expectations for the look.

How well does everything fit together and match up?
Body, Feet, Hands and Tail all fit together quite well, unfortunately the head doesn’t match the fullsuit, it looks small and “off-putting”.
The suit in gernal fits me quite well, but the head as previously discussed is unusable by me.

Suit fits makers style, the head I feel is within their style but looks rushed.

Overall Project Quality
I am quite happy with the body, and not with the head.
I felt the suit took longer than it should have and I was not involved enough with certain items / parts.
The quality of the parts I like are quite high and I don’t feel like it made with lower quality materials.

I feel it is worth the price paid but the wait was far to long.

Purchase Process

Initial Contact
Filled out a form found via the makers Twitter and got a mail back later with price over email.
Later discussions were done over Telegram for Measurements and DTD.
It was very easy.

Maker Response Time
Makers response time in the start was slow, not uncommon for it to be a day or so before a response, this has improved a lot since then, down to within the day. All was done over Telegram.

Maker Professionalism
Maker was professional in their communication and talkative around personal things, but when it came to progress and questions it seems like some of it was skipped and items finished up without WIPs.
Excuses in their “Makers Chat” were common about personal life, but seemed appropriate.

Project Completion Time
Suit was ordered in February 2016 and scheduled to finish between end of 2016 to somewhere in 2017. A few deadlines were given during the making but all missed. Suit was constantly moved further down on their Trello and pushed back compared to other suits on their list. Did not feel like I could comment on this as excuses about other projects took priority.
Suit was Finished in November 2018.

Items were shipped within expected time.

Rating FursuitReview rates by asking the question:
Would you recommend this maker?

This review has been marked with a neutral rating.
This means the reviewer MIGHT recommend Faruku Costumes depending on circumstances that have been clarified in this review.

Final Comments
Faruku is nice to work with and is definitely good at their job, but during out project it could have been done better, and we should have had better communication both ways.
I would recommend them for projects related to big cats as this is definitely their expertise.
I like talking with them at cons and they are very happy to be around with all their suits.

I hope they will use this review to hopefully better involve their customer in the smaller parts of the project and double check their willingness to do the project and make sure items looks right to the customer before finishing them up. Better double check than remake.
