I got in contact with her through a friend at a convention. He also arranged the comission spot for me.
Ooooooh boy, where do I even start?
We initally agreed on the first payment and general stuff for the suit (Follow-me-eyes, indoor/outdoor paws, etc…). A few days later she contacted me about which fur exactly to order. A few weeks later, I send her my DTD, and never received a conformation that the she received the package.
When I texted her, she responds in a few minutes to a few hours. But the other way around? Absolute silence from her, for 8 whole months. Every time I texted her in this time, she would respond very shortly and very unprecise. She had some personal issues in the second half of the year, which I respected once she told me after asking whats wrong.
But regardless, there where still 6 months before that where she didnt do a single minute of work. She even completed other fursuit projects (which where later commisoned as mine) in the same time frame without telling me anything that this could or is happening. She also prioritised premade Suit parts she could sell at conventions.
She lied and broke promises she made to me. Even after receiving my mini partial and waiting for the rest, another 4 months passed and she didnt texted me a single time on her own. I made a whole page with constructive critisim and some questions. She answered only one of at least 4 points in my argumentation and ignored the rest, even after asking again directly afterwards.
At this point, I dont even know anymore how many more red flags a suit maker could collect in that regard.
My initially planned Fullsuit never saw the light of day. The mini Partial was delivered after 9 months, which is unacceptable considering she made other, bigger projects in even shorter time.
No more conrete timeline or queue was set, I never knew where I was on this queue, and I'm very confident I got pushed back on her queue multiple times, without any info from her that this could happen.
No dead line was defined from both of us. She started working on my commission once I threatened her to cancel the whole project and reclaim my first full payment.
The quality of work and material on the ZoCor Mini Partial is okay. for todays prices, the one I paid could have been spend worse. BUT
initially, my maker and I agreed on a full digigrade bodysuit, which would have been 2500€ at the time of the comission. 1000€ where supposed to be the first payment for fur and everything, the rest should be payed when the full suit is finished. After paying the first payment and waiting 8 months of believing she is working in it and then getting to know she didnt even started the work, I had to use pressure which is usally something I absolutly dont like. We agreed she would make me the mini partial first so I could wear it to a convention, which she did. Some parts where missing (like promised feet paws), but I was happy I finally had something now. After another 4 months of waiting, i decided to cancel the rest of the suit, which she agreed to without any questions.
+ fits right on, without the need for an additional zipper in the back
+ the mouth opening is perfect to squeeze in a 80mm PC fan (not included from maker) for better airflow while suiting
+ its very lightweight, due to the base being only a half mask which does not wrap around the entire head
+ the inside is lined with red fleece material, which feels smooth. no other sharp or uncomfy edges inside
+ mouth is naturally formed to be a bit open, its possible to breath and drink through it
+ Vision in Suit is okay, blind spot is there, but not too much
+ removable tongue via magnets
– due to no support on the back, the head is sliding down on the face after longer periods of time
– neck fur is not lined
+ mean expression looks good
+ Shaving is even
+ Symmetry is okay
– pics from a side angle reveal a weird looking head shape when put on
– there are 1-2 spots of hot glue visible around the eyes
– there where thread ends hanging from it (fresh after receiving)
+ there is enough room in the seperate fingers to fit comfortable
+ the fur is long enough to be hidden underneath clothing
– both handpaws are not lined, therefore after every suiting my hands are full of sweaty fur. It gets uncomfy after a while
– quality of stiches are not the best, I had to sew parts of a paw pad two weeks after receiving
– stiches are not reinforced, very simple sewing patterns
– cutting edges around the paw pads are visible
– Markings on the back which where clearly marked in the ref sheet are not present
+ not too heavy
+ size is not too long, not too short
+ Zipper to remove filling for washing
+ double loop for attaching to the belt
+ functions as intended
– spot where the loops are anchored to is already disintegrating
+ colours are as advertised
+ form is also ok
+ symmetry and shaving are even
– also had thread ends hanging from it after receiving
Inside the nose of the head is a NTAG215 NFC chip embedded
