Very easy: I filled a form and he contacted me through Telegram to discuss the details, queue and expectations. Very professional, very well paced and very respectful.
It went from a quote to paying through Paypal. Very easy and very smooth.
Doing the DTD was a bit of a challenge. But I got it finished and sent over to him. I think my reference sheet made quite a difference with a picture and wishes.
Expertly done: very understanding, took the time and patience to speak through details and answering questions.
The time of the messages were sometimes a bit weird: like getting messages from him around 7 AM his time zone. That being said, I think it was also incredibly smart. The messages were used as emails in which I could try to squeeze a reply during work or after work. I always did my best to respond within 24 hours, which 9 out of 10 times went really well. I often checked if it was okay to think over about things and he responded very mature and professional about it.
I had to wait for one more person their fursuit to get finished. That still took 3 months. After that it took around 3 to 4 months to complete my fursuit. Tulius kept it semi-open. What I mean by that was that he talked about building phases and estimation of weeks before completion. He often got it done around that time or even earlier, depending on the type of work that had to be done.
Shipping went well and got even in earlier than the tracker told me to. It was shipped by truck and plane and it all went really well. I was very happy when it came in and it was quite an experience.
I am incredibly happy with the fursuit. My expectations were a bit high because I already had seen his former work. But the longer I am wearing the fursuit and receiving the impressions of other people, the more and more thankful I am for the love and effort Tulius has put in the suit. He's a great man of talent that deserves the same if not even more praise than that I receive for the fursuit. The material is great, it looks and feels great. The synergy of all the pieces together makes the suit so good.
I will admit I am still exploring my personality within the suit. But in general I think of a warm, cheerful and friendly dog. I think that with time roleplaying the character comes out better and that will make the suit even more amazing. It exceeded my expectations with how he managed to add so much detail to show the character. I am very thankful for that.
The suit is unique, just like Tulius his former works. Real craftsmanship!
The head fits comfortably, my sight is pretty decent although it gets difficult when it's dark. Breathing through it goes very well, with the ventilation put in it helps to cool down a bit.
One thing that's a bit of a hit and miss is the moving jaw. It definitely works, but I need to use my mouth very exaggerated. I do want to add that that's very understandable: it's very hard to make that perfectly fit your chin. I can probably fix it by putting something between my chin and the jaw.
It looks gorgeous! I love the warm smile and expression the face gives. I love the features like the sideburns around my cheeks and the tintin on my head. I couldn't believe how much I recognized myself by details like that. I was blown away how it made my character, who at first sight I think would look plain, really shows character. The fake leather on the nose is amazing for nose boops and feeling like a dog nose.
The ears is a style that is rarely used by fursuitmakers. But the more realistic approach gives this wild and fluffy look. The colour schemes are very distinctive and synergize well with the overall look. The fur feels nice and soft. Giving it care with a brush really goes well.
I like how the follow-me eyes are placed. It changes the expression of a neutral smile to nearly a grinny smile from the sides. Tulius Costumes did a marvelous job with matching the personality well into the fursuit head. It is…..very big however. Fallout bobble head big. Looks and feels gorgeous but turning around or hugging is slightly a challenge. But very doable.
It feels really nice. The arms and legs sometimes feel they are slightly short, but that has to do with how I put it on. My experience is that after a bit of shaking it fits me the best. The front zipper is really nice and it's great that a part of the tail is made to connect well with the tail. I keep hearing from people around me that it feels really soft. Washing it so far went really well. Got good tips and tricks from Tulius.
It looks great, like a big summer coat. I went from a bit dark brown to a brighter brown to fit more with the personality. The markings look gorgeous and Tulius did a great job matching the markings on the reference sheet with the fursuit. Great colours, looks great and feels great to the touch.
I am in love with the fake leather simulating the rough pawpads of a dog. Exactly the way I wanted it. The nails look gorgeous and give that amazing ticking sound when you tick them to a table or door. The hands fit really well. I do notice that after wearing them a long time it gets really difficult putting them on again. Something that can be fixed with thin under armour gloves. It feels like wearing winter gloves, so the material fits nicely around my hands.
I am very glad that I got five fingers for my hands. It looks toony and more anthropomorphic. I love how the fingers are of a different shaving than around the palms. More trimmed and of a different texture. They look great!
The tail is great for the full fursuit as well as wearing it partial. Smart design of using a belt. It's easy to wear and easy to store.
I am very happy with the contrast of black and summer brown. I also really love the sort of a joke/design Tulius made by making the start of the tail show the dog bone if it were real. I definitely know I can use that gimmick for some Halloween or horror themed events.
I love the curl on the tail and the way it wags when I am moving around and dancing. It's a bit smaller than the reference sheet shows, and that is totally fine!
It's very easing to put them one. There is always putting the foot in and give a firm pull before my feet slide and fit in. Like trying to put on boots. They feel very comfortable.
Interior is black and looks and feels good. It takes in sweat very well. Cleaning them also worked out really well.
I am happy with the design that the toes are of the same fake leather as the nose and pawpads. Makes the feet/paws hit-friendly. Also like with the hands, I love how the toes are trimmed, yet above the ankle is more fluffy.
The design matches incredibly well with the reference sheet it's based upon.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would recommend Tulius Costumes.
I got a couple of friends who were so impressed that they already contacted him to get their own fursuit from him. This speaks volumes.
The compliments I keep receiving for the fursuit really shows the incredible talent this lad has. I am thankful for choosing him as my fursuitmaker and you should give him a try as well!
