Features: Wings Concept Art Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactContacting Mei was very easy through Twitter DMs. Maker CommunicationI had regular and polite contact with Mei with frequent updates and WIPs. Project Completion TimeThe project was completed within 9 months from commissioning, which I was kept updated all throughout. My suit arrived very quickly through a UK courier. Overall Project QualityOverall I was super happy with Pavlova – she was my first fursuit and a commission of my fursona at the time – I have now sold her on to a new home but I will always cherish her as my introduction to fursuiting and felt a review would be the best send-off for her. The only gripes I have with the suit are minor issues such as the backing in the inner ear fur being visible sometimes and weak foam in the ears. In the time that I have worn her, she has gained no damage i.e. popped seams or fur falling out, and she looks very sweet. All of the fur and minky used is of a very high quality and she has great breathability and vision. She fits like a glove and is an exact match with the maker's typical style that I was hoping for. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head is super comfortable with good vision – the only issue is that I cannot wear my glasses inside of the head, which was a problem on my half as at the time I did not know fursuit heads could be made to be glasses friendly. It is fully lined with breathable material and nothing irritates my face. The ventilation is good, and the beak can be propped open a little more to allow more airflow. It doesn't get too stuffy when wearing it and I can wear it for decently long periods of time without a break. There is a fan installed within the head which was fantastic with a pocket for the battery pack sewn into the neck. The blind spot is perfectly ignorable and regular sized for a suit head. Visual SatisfactionPavlova's head looks absolutely lovely – she matches the reference image I provided and her beak from the front looks fantastically silly. The fur feels very high quality and the markings are symmetrical. The only issue I had with the shaving is that some backing can be seen on the inner ears, but only if you specifically look for it – it cannot be spotted from a distance and can only be spotted up close if you're already aware. There was a small bit of dried glue on the back of the head on the dot marking, but nothing major. She has follow-me eyes that work perfectly and a sweet expression. The major problem with the head was that the foam used for the ears could bend very easily – they are made of regular upholstery foam as opposed to more sturdy EVA foam. Whenever the ears bent I could move them back into the position that they were meant to be in, so I didn't contact the maker about this – I am putting this in the review for disclosure. Hands Wear SatisfactionThe hand paws are very comfortable and just the right size, and offer great dexterity. None of the seams have popped in the time that I have worn her and I can do very exaggerated poses without breaking anything. Visual SatisfactionThe handpaws feel very soft and are cuffed with minky. They look lovely and the shaving on the fingers looks great too. The paw pads are also made of minky which is super soft to the touch. Pavlova's paws are a very simple design, with just 1 fur colour and pads, which was replicated perfectly. Tail Wear SatisfactionThe tail fits fantastically and is very comfortable – it is not heavy at all and moves around with me perfectly. The seams are durable and none have popped in the time I have worn her, with no damage happening to the tail over time either. Visual SatisfactionThe tail is one of my favourite pieces of the suit – it's super fluffy and has a great amount of wiggle when performing.
