I reached out via email.
Communication was a breeze. I did have to send a reminder email once, but that was a result of an email mistakenly being marked as "read". Otherwise, no issues.
There was no ETA, but I was generally aware of where I was in the queue when we were still discussing payment and such. Once construction started, I had the head in my hands in just under a month!
This is my second time commissioning Beastcub, and I'd do it a million times again if I could! She brought Bobbin back to life in ways I never could've imagined, and it reignited my love for the character.
Fantastic! It is built on a baseball cap which is comfortable and easy to adjust. The neck is magnetic so I never have to worry about zippers getting caught. I specifically requested that it be lightweight as my head and neck are sensitive, and I have genuinely never held a lighter head! Her wide-open mouth makes for excellent ventilation. The vision out of both the eyes and the mouth is wonderful; there's a pretty solid blind spot between the eyes, but the only alternative would be moving the buttons closer together, so I don't mind. People constantly ask me how I see out of it; the button eyes are actually mesh, and super easy to see out of! The strings on the eyes are visible from the inside, but they're thin enough that my eyes ignore them.
Literally perfect incredible 10/10 I absolutely could not be happier. The main fabric used was actually from a blanket, and I provided the plaid fleece and minky since I already had it on hand from the kigu/hands/feet. It makes for an awesome patchworky look.
I also requested that the maker not follow the reference sheet to a T and add her own flair; the addition of the "loose" stuffing (actually very secure with a mix of white paint and fabric glue), stitches, pins/needles and safety pins were all her ideas. The huge safety pin on the neck is real; thankfully, she added a strip of thick foam on the underside as a protective measure. I have no reason to worry that it will poke me.
