Features: None Concept Art Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactIt was a while ago so I don't remember the exact details, but I do believe I randomly stumbled across Gray's website and found their email there. I sent an email on October 7th 2024, and I heard back from Gray a day after I submitted the initial quote request. It was the fastest I've ever heard back from a maker, and I've submitted many requests last October in hopes of getting my fursuit made by Vancoufur 2025. I was taken aback by how responsive Gray was and knew that there was potential! Maker CommunicationGray and I had a total of 146 email exchanges over the course of the fursuit-making process. Gray would send out monthly updates, as well as keeping me in the loop if they had a question about something specific I wanted. Most of these emails had paragraphs of writing, including pictures to illustrate points. Gray even drew up sketches to show me what the final product would look like, and they were super accurate. This is what I believe to be Gray's strongest trait; they were by far the most communicative person I have ever had the pleasure of working with online. Honestly, I still can't believe it. Everything I had a concern about was addressed, even the ones I knew would be difficult for them to address. The latest I would have to wait is a few days to a week. Over the course of 6 months? That's really good! They were never late with their updates, I never heard any excuse whatsoever, and never rushed me for payment. Words cannot express how much gratitude I have for this person and I only hope this review helps them find more work because they genuinely deserve it. Project Completion TimeI put in a rush order for an extra charge. Consequently, I only had to wait 6 months for the fullsuit to be completed. I was never left in the dark; I knew exactly how much work was left to do at every given stage, and everything ended up arriving on-time, shipping included. Overall Project QualityOverall, I am incredibly happy with the final result. The project has definitely exceeded my expectations, and was 100% worth the price I paid. Everything fits together to become one, seamless costume. With proper care, I can see my suit lasting for a very long time. Components Head Wear SatisfactionAlthough my experience with wearing other fursuit heads is limited and so this may seem subjective, I can say that Gray did an astounding job at making the fursuit head fit me! As someone who wears glasses, I was worried that the fursuit head would have difficulty fitting onto me. However, because I communicated to Gray that this was a concern of mine, Gray accounted for this when making the head. It fits just right; not too tight, and certainly not too loose, all while I have my glasses on. The inside of the head has lining, and it absorbs sweat well. It also makes cleaning super simple, as all I need to do is fan it out and gently apply rubbing alcohol to sanitize it. The ventilation is great! Air goes in through the mouth and nose, and is even better when the detachable tongue is removed. I haven't had any problems breathing in it, despite having Asthma. Though it does get hot in there, I also understand that I'm a pretty sweaty person, so with proper care and fanning, I have encountered no issues. Vision-wise? I can see a lot, despite the narrow blind spot where the nose is. The blind spot has never bothered me as I can still see what I want to see comfortably! The peripheral vision is fantastic as well, I can see a good amount of things to my sides and seldomly run into things as a result. Visual SatisfactionEverything about the head turned out better than I could have even imagined! I was super anxious about how the head would look as it was the most important part of the suit to me. However, Gray delivered on all fronts. Everything they set out to do, they did. They made two magnetic interchangeable sets of ears, 3D-printed hair clips and earrings, removable tongue and eyelids… They even got the fursuit glasses I ordered to fit on the head perfectly. The shaving and transitions between the fur types is seamless, the fur feels and looks great, the face is super expressive and the follow-me eyes add a lot. I could go on and on about how impressed I am at how they were able to make the asymmetrical design of Bun's head a reality, but let me leave you with this. Everything down to the last detail, Gray got right. Just look at the ref! One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionThe only issue I had encountered with the bodysuit, was a single loose stitch (near the zipper) inside the lining of the suit that I was able to easily fix with the help of my fursuit-making friends. Aside from that, everything about the bodysuit is exactly how I wanted it to be! Gray did a wonderful job fitting the bodysuit to the DTD I sent in for this commission. Everything fits like a glove! The quality is great and it's durable enough for me to be able to do strenuous physical activity in it for hours on end. This is because the bodysuit is thin and unlined, making it super light and easy to wear. Although the lack of lining may seem like a problem, Gray suggested that I get a wetsuit to help circumvent the sweating/cleaning problem. They were right; and even with the extra layer, I am still able to move around super comfortably in it! However, since the legs are padded, it does get quite hot in suit. However, I'd imagine it's not hotter than any other suit with padding that exists. With proper care and a fan, the heat does not bother me. All in all, 10/10! Visual SatisfactionI have no idea how Gray was able to hand-sew all the stars on the bodysuit. I am genuinely impressed at how they were able to draft, make and adjust the patterns until I was satisfied with the final result. They got the colours right, the shapes right, and most importantly, the proportions right. The shaving is even, everything is more or less symmetrical, the fur feels nice and soft to touch and it absolutely matched the concept art to a T. Visually, an easy 10/10. I cannot recommend them enough for complex fursuit designs! Hands Wear SatisfactionI love the paws so much!!! I can't even begin to describe how good they are, but I will certainly try my best! They fit perfectly. I've never had to worry about them sliding off. They can be put on pretty quickly and comfortably too! I have a surprising amount of dexterity with the paws as well; being able to open doors, pick things up and poke at things with my claws! Its quality has not noticeably declined since the day I got them. Nothing has popped, chipped or fallen off. And much like the fursuit head, the inside of the paws are lined and therefore super easy to clean. Visual SatisfactionThe claws on the paws were a last minute addition at the beginning of the project, but they were able to add it onto the suit and I'm so glad they did! Much like the other parts, there is going to be nothing but positive feedback here. I can honestly say what they did using my ref sheet was better than what my partner and I came up with for the ref sheet. So, again, 10/10! Tail Wear SatisfactionThe tail was made in a traditional manner; with a belt and a hole in the bodysuit to allow the tail to pop out when I'm not partialing. Gray and I had a few back and forths about how to make the tail just right, and they delivered! It has a nice amount of weight to it to make it really feel like I have a tail. It's super durable, even being able to resist me (accidentally) sitting on it a couple of times. It's easy to put on, easy to keep on, and easy to move around in; everything a good fursuit tail needs! Visual SatisfactionI cannot even begin to describe to you how happy I am with the tail. It genuinely feels like Gray plucked the tail straight from the reference sheet. It's symmetrical, the shaving is even, the fur feels nice and smooth, the colours match the ref and overall, it came out better than I could have ever hoped. Thank you again, Gray! Feet Wear SatisfactionThe feet paws are equally as good as the hand paws. Durable, lined and comfortable. If anything, it could afford to be a bit tighter, but given the constraints of the project itself (me not being there in-person for Gray to measure,) they did a wonderful job fitting it to my feet. They still fit so well in fact, that I was able to enter and comfortably perform a dance routine at Vancoufur 2025! It just took some time to get used to. Visual SatisfactionI'm lazy so I'll just say this; IT'S PERFECT! ZERO COMPLAINTS FROM ME! Special FeaturesThe magnetic swappable ears where by far the most unique aspect of this fursuit, and they work like a charm. I have two sets of ears; one that stands up and one that lops down. At first, the ears that stood up felt loose as they came off a lot easier than I expected. However, with some rubber bands to keep the ears secured and extra care in my head movement, it became a non-issue. The lop-down ears fit incredibly snuggly, and they have only fallen off once (but that was because I was moving my head a lot in a short period of time). They're super easy to wear, light, durable and I absolutely love the diversity in expressions that I am able to achieve with them. I wouldn't trade them in for the world!
