Features: Horns or Antlers, Wings, Hooves Concept Art Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactExtremely easy, I DM'd them on Twitter and they responded within an hour and were okay with giving me a quote despite not having a ref at the time, which is unusual. Please note that I DID need a reference for the actual commission, but fortunately mine was done in time. Maker CommunicationOutside of pandemic-related delays, I received very frequent updates every few days. They answered any questions I had within hours and were very receptive to feedback I gave. Because of the frequent updates, the minor issues I had were resolved very quickly. It was always made very clear where I was in their queue as well. Project Completion TimeGiven mine was being worked on right in the middle of the pandemic and how complex the suit is, I think that they went above and beyond. Overall Project QualityThis was my first fursuit commission ever and I couldn't be happier with it. I really can't think of any complaints I've had even after a year and a half of wear. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head has a zipper so I can take it on and off easier without getting my glasses stuck, while still keeping the head snug enough it won’t slip around despite being a bit heavier than a standard fursuit head (due to all the horns,) yet not so tight that I get pressure headaches. Due to this, please note if you are prone to claustrophobia you may need to request a slightly more loose head! I prefer a snug fit however. It keeps air out of the rest of the head, which keeps it cooler and saves my glasses from fogging. I gave instructions to help build the head around my glasses so they’d be less likely to fog up or press into my face too much and everything worked perfectly! In spite of having a lot of details, the head is light and doesn’t put pressure on my neck. The lining is purple, which I’m very happy about because it’s my favorite color, and the vision is outstanding with only minor blind spots. Visual SatisfactionIt's basically spot on to the ref, including a slight overbite. While weirdly specific I think the teeth are a big charm point and I get compliments on them all the time. I love the textured areas of the horns too! The goatee and mane are made with much longer fox fur, and it really pops out. They also have removeable eyelids to have an "angry" expression and a longer tongue which let me get more creative with pictures. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionIt's very comfortable and doesn't limit my movement beyond what you would generally expect from a lot of digitigrade padding. The seams are solid and despite a good bit of wear I've never had a popped seam. I'll also talk about the mane here, which as a quality-of-life feature has a hidden pocket. It's just the right size to hide my phone in which is exactly what I wanted! Visual SatisfactionThe spots are so distinctive. Prism really went the extra mile with giving them a mottled appearance by adding in spots of white within the gold, which they absolutely did not have to do. They gave me a selection of colors that could work, and we decided to go a bit off the reference by going with a more saturated fur color for the gold and a cream instead of a pure white. I'm glad I went with that because it ended up looking great and I probably wouldn't have thought of doing it on my own. This is my first time having a suit with the 1-inch teddy furs and I'm completely sold on it, it's so soft and dense. Finally, the wings are just visible from a front profile which is exactly what I wanted. Hands Wear SatisfactionThese have a lot more manual dexterity than you would think because they're fleece, and I can do things like unlock doors that would be really hard with regular paws. Note that the hands double as sleeves since they're detachable from the bodysuit! So I can wear them as a partial too. There are hidden pockets underneath the scutes so I can slip out my fingers to type things on my phone or if I really need fine manual dexterity. The underside of the hands are embroidered as well and while I was a little worried it might pop for a bit, it's held up extremely well. Visual SatisfactionThe textured "scale" area looks great, I think this is the first time I've seen it on a fursuit and it looks great! Bird scutes are really hard to translate to a fursuit so I was very happy with the end result. The claws are a really cool shiny gold vinyl. I can't get it to show up in pictures, but it has a slight rainbow sheen in the right lighting. Tail Wear SatisfactionIt fits in well with the rest of the bodysuit and the nylon straps have been really sturdy. It stops just short of brushing against the ground too which saves me a lot of trouble with cleaning. Visual SatisfactionThe embroidering on the feathers look great and it's held up despite a lot of wear around the house! Feet Wear SatisfactionThe hooves are a little bit big on me but this is more the fault of US shoe sizes being incredibly inconsistent so I’m just putting in foam inserts to make them a bit more snug. I found out the hard way my preferred brand runs smaller than the standard shoe size. They aren’t so loose that they flop off, I’d guess they’re about a half-size off, but I like running around so I just appreciate the extra security. Prism went by the sizes I gave so this is 100% not their fault. Otherwise, they’re warm and comfortable enough that I like wearing them around the house as slippers. The sole is also really durable and hasn't suffered from me running around on stone and pavement. Visual SatisfactionThey use the same vinyl as the claws and horns and it's really attention-grabbing. Final CommentsI was very nervous about my first fursuit commission but it went incredibly well, I would say that external real-life events notwithstanding this was the perfect first commission experience. If you want to commission a maker who's not yet in the "big name maker" category I don't think you can go wrong with Prism, as each suit they work on is only getting better and better.
