I happened upon Aseol's work through a friend because of the artist's art dolls they made for themselves. Later learning they would start taking on fursuit commissions after a long hiatus. With the help of my friend as intermediary we contacted them through Instagram at the time (before they implemented using email). Maker was very straight forward and prompt with what they required from me.
Contact was easy to maintain. If I were to send an email they would respond within a reasonable time (same or next day). I understood our timezone were different and so contacted them when was appropriate and also knew a reply back may not be immediate. When I email, I made sure to ask all questions right away so not to take up their time sending many emails. They were polite to answer.
My commission was the first Aseol took on after their return from a hiatus. They did not take on others at the time, only their pre-made work was being had before and during my commission. I did not come in expecting a quick turnaround time nor did I have any deadlines I wanted it completed by. Regardless they were kept to a good pace from start to finish. Even shipping and its delivery was prompt and I respect that they went out of their way to do so.
I am very happy from working with Aesol Fursuit and feel they are a great creator to work with! I love the colors used on my suit and their overall look. Certain aspects like their eye details or hair I was curious to see how they could complete it and i'm very satisfied with the effect they did.
Aseol was polite throughout the whole process and was very respectful and patient with me. Any changes or feedback I gave we received and given back to me well. English is not their language so simple English was required (as in, not to be complicated, use of slang etc). Not an issue as English is not my main language. My friend made it easier for me. So our conversations were simple but concise. I chose to speak to them like one would a business more often than not. I did not want to come across as a bother or too much a distraction from their work. Although, time and time I did have conversation with them (but kept it short). I hope this was okay and not received as me being distant. They explained to me what they will be doing, when they will begin, will provide process photos and when they will begin focus on complete the commission.
I can't truly speak on durability completely as I have been very gentle and careful with my head. Having had it since 2019, they have maintained their charming appeal.
Vision is like that of any cartoon/toony suit, so to say you see well in it. Inside is clean and lined with black felt. I choose to wear a balaclava underneath. The head is tight on my head. I assumed initially this because of it being new, so I gave it time wearing it on and off every few days to see if the comfort adjusted. There was minor relief from this, and my nose is press tightly against inside when worn. I can not breathe well, although I have been told this is expected from the design of my character and style of suit; I also believe I have this issue because of my nose pinch on inside. If you commission be sure you provide a character with well width mouth for sake of breath ability.
Aseol was upfront with providing their own basic concept after I shared my reference to show how they would like to translate the design into their style of work. Any and all design changes were discussed if they were to be applied. In the end very little was altered.
Appearance is Lovely. The match to concept art is great likeness! I am very pleased with the overall execution of my character being translated into Aseol's style. There is minor asymmetry in the mouth corner marks when seen from front, otherwise no such more seen. Everything else is matched so well. Aseol took great care to match their work to my character design. If needed I was willing to simplify the design as we had discussed but they took to it very kindly.
Transitional shaving from short to long area is here and there. In some areas the shaving is slightly rough, other areas soft. Overall I have no complaint as you hardly notice it. The fur feels well like much luxury shag. Brushing is fine. i can do it with ease.
The markings are majority sewn, minor airbrushing can be seen for color blending effect or where a light gradient is in design. Hair is airbrush from white to bright blue, I appreciate the effect doing this gives the hair! Some hair is sewn into the cheek, I would say it is an interesting choice of placement and I am still unsure how I feel about it. I suppose it doesn't bother me too much as I had not brought it up to the artist.
The expression my head has is perfect and very true to their personality. I have fun looking at different angles to show emotion. The additional features provided help further push their expression!
Aseol provided additional feature: magnetic eyelids to use for Enzapius and I have expressed my thanks to this many times during the build process. This was a new feature from them at the time, they ask permission to apply to my character's head and have since been perfecting after this commission. They are secure, fun to use, easy to place over eyes and once brush out transition is very well done. I place them before wearing the head, but have little difficulty doing so afterwards as well. As I have said having them further push the expression and personality that is the character but are not necessary to use if I choose not to wear them on the head.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would recommend Aseol Fursuit.
Packaging was well planned and professionally done so no damage would come to their item during delivery. Even the box was undamaged. I have much to be said about Aseol’s work and all of it is very positive. I believe being patient and trusting your chosen maker can go a long way in making communication, feedback and changes possible without any huff of fuss.
Since my commission I have seen them make the upmost beautiful work. I am overjoyed to see how grand they have become.
If possible I would love to work with them again in the future and wish them continued success.
