Head

Wear Satisfaction

The head does not fit me. It is tight around the face and I have poor vision and ventilation because of it. This was the maker’s first time doing a grumpy expression and this kind of head shape. To be fair to the maker, while the forehead measurement (22″) fits, my nose and general front-face area is a lot bigger so I should have clarified or sent more measurements. I was able to hollow out the muzzle area more and while it is tiring to wear her, I am able to do so without much discomfort.

The head is not lined.

The vision is poor due to the eye shape and poor fit. However this is more my fault as the character is designed with narrow eyes. I don’t have much of a blind spot in front of me but I am unable to look down without turning my head. I often have a sore neck after long sessions due to having to look down all the time.

Otherwise I am happy with it. There are no pokey bits and the foam is very clean looking on the inside.

The arms did not come lined, but I was able to add lining later. I enjoy wearing them.

Visual Satisfaction

The symmetry is great and she followed the concept art well! The fur is soft and the shaving is good. The transition from the short to the long is good and smooth.

The colours are a little off from the concept art, but this is my fault as I had specifically recommended these furs. I believe the mismatch is due to different dye lots, so it is no fault of the maker.

The expression is great! I love her eyelashes and she looks very grumpy and sassy!

My favourite part is her fluffy neck. I opted out of a “neck doughnut” due to wanting to avoid the heat, but even without extra padding, it is fluffy and great. I love the long black fur she’s used.

Hands and Feet

Wear Satisfaction

The paws are not lined, but at the time of commissioning this she did not offer lined paws as part of the commission.

The quality is good. The paws do peel off a little as they are glued on foam pads, but I don’t find this annoying to fix or cheap looking.

I have not had a popped seam yet.

Wearing them is great! They fit well and I have no trouble grabbing things or opening doors. I am able to put them on without a struggle.

Visual Satisfaction

The appearance is great. The colours blend together nicely and the pads are made of a very soft material. The shaving is a bit choppy, but I’ve found this specific shag (Mendel’s Punky Muppet) has this “clumpy” texture that looks a bit odd. I don’t find it distracting and usually is fixed by a good brush.

Tails

Wear Satisfaction

The tail is easy to put on and fun to wear. It has a good wag, though due to being an elastic loop with no “bone base”, it doesn’t stick up very much. I don’t mind this however.

Like with my previous suit, Haibane, the elastic is thin and stretches which can cause sagging issues.

Visual Satisfaction

I love the colours and how it blends together.

I opted for having a shorter tail than her usual fox tails as that is what the character has and it looks great. She was able to do my strange shape with the slight curve to it (it’s not very visible on photos, unfortunately).

It matches up well with my concept art. The fur is very soft and the black is the same from the neck which is a fabric I have grown to love.

Overall

Product Satisfaction

How was your concept art realized?
Despite having only a simple art ref, the maker was able to follow it well. She kept all the small details like Joltner’s forehead diamond and her black tufts near her ears. When I asked if she could give her tufted ears, she was happy to comply.

While the colours don’t exactly match, this is no fault of the creator. I specifically requested Mendel’s Honey and Banana punky muppet for the yellow and cream as I had samples of both that worked well together. However due to different dye lots, the honey was more orange-y this time around and the banana more yellowish than cream. I don’t mind this too much as the colours work well together on the suit and I love the palette.

How well does everything fit together and match up?
Everything looks great together! The colours match up and there’s no big gap between the paws and the arms.

The maker has a very set style which I enjoy.

Overall Project Quality
Despite the head not fitting and being uncomfortable to wear for long times, I think I am satisfied. Everything else looks and feels great. I did have a popped seam in the neck after wearing it for a while, but this was easy to fix. I have not had issues with anything else.

Purchase Process

Initial Contact
I follow the maker’s Facebook now after buying a premade from her. When she opened for custom partial slots I enquired if she’d be able to do my character’s design and we got to working out details in Messenger.

Maker Response Time
She is always great at replying and clear with her answers. We chatted mostly through messenger.

Maker Professionalism
She is very pleasant to work with. She is open about her commission progress and always happy to help out.

Project Completion Time
The partial was finished before I finished payments, but once I had paid in full and for shipping, it was sent within a day. The shipping was quick as we live near to one another.

Rating FursuitReview rates by asking the question:

YES

This review has been marked with a positive rating.
This means the reviewer would recommend Beauregard’s Buddies Fursuit Workshop.

Final Comments
I always recommend this maker to Australian furries, especially those younger or newer to the fandom. She is a delight to work with and work quality is always great. Any faults with the suits are either easy to fix or not the fault of the maker herself (IE: wrong head measurements and fur being incorrect colour).

I am certainly a returning costumer to her.
