I asked if anyone has open comms slots and they DM'ed me. ~6 months later I got back to this person, I decided I want to commission a fursuit head and we started chatting about that. It took less than 1 week to get all informations I needed (such as more examples, TOS, quote etc) but I got informed they may respond slow due to personall stuff so that was okay/understandable! Some time after, my maker asked for my head measurements and explained me how to do it correctly. Maker CommunicationMy fursuit maker was responding to my messages as soon as it was possible. We started on discord, some time later when she started working on head base we switched to instagram, later in the process we switched again to Telegram but it was fine for me. Working with this maker was nice experience, I got answers to all questions I asked, lot of WIPS (work in progress pictures, updates, photos) and I got treated well 🙂 General atmosphere was nice and friendly When I commissioned this fursuit, we were NOT friends but during process of suit making we started talking more and became friends. I was getting updates regularly so I knew what is currently going on/how's work going. Project Completion TimeI commissioned my suit head in *late September-start of October*, my maker were working on it during April-June/July and got it fully finished on first half of July. As I said, I was getting regular updates so I knew why maker is not working yet or what they will be doing for now etc, so it was not a issue! (I'm a type of person who can wait as long as I get updates). While commissioning and setting up all details, I asked for a specific date/deadline when I want to get my suit done. For maker's personal reasons she was not able to get my order on that time but I got informed about that earlier so that's okay!! When everything was done, we agreed on shipping methods and my fursuit got send out. We live in the same country so it came really fast (in like a day or two)! It was good packed and secured, I got a fursuit collar and some sweets I like as a gift. Overall Project QualityYES, I couldn't be more happy with final outcome! My fursuit is really comfortable to wear and nice looking in general (both outside and inside). Before it was shipped to me, my maker did a video with durability test, my head passed it without any issues. I already own this item since more than a year and wear it frequently, the only 'problem' I had was a small hole in his lining but it was my fault (I pulled it too hard and fast) but luckily it was easy to fix and now it's invisible at all 🙂 Do I feel my project met or exceeded my expectations? Yes, definitely! It's even better than I could imagine! It was worth the price I paid, If I would be financially able to, I'd leave a tip for my maker. ''Does it look how you expected based on the maker's previous projects?'' Yes! It is similar to my maker's style/examples I got before commissioning, I think they did some progress while working on my project tho but that's bonus points! Components Head Wear SatisfactionFursuit head I got fits me PERFECTLY, i'm really happy with it!! <3 It's fully lined inside (neck included) with good quality, nice soft material (my maker suggested me one of the available patterns, asked if I want to get this one or any other but I liked the brown pine cones pattern they suggester first so we kept it). Also it's really easy to keep clean and fresh looking/smelling inside. Ventilation is very good! I don't have any issues with it, I can breathe freely and I am able to suit for hours without taking head off. There is enough space inside mouth/muzzle so I can use a suit fan if I need it, I appreciate that 🙂 Vision is really nice (I can look through eyes or open mouth), my vision is clean and i don't have any blind spots so I can see what's in front of me. If I want to look on my left/right sides, I have to turn my head to that side but it's not a issue at all. While fursuiting outside on furry events, I have seen some suitors do have a problem with walking through stairs but with my head, I do NOT have that problem 😀 Is it hot inside while suiting? Obviously, it can get warm because suit is a piece of foam and fur but it's not bad at all! I already suited (at home and outside) during summer/high temperatures and everything was okay. Visual SatisfactionMy character does have symmetrical design/fur markings and suit I got represents that as well! Fur shaving IS very smooth!! Actually I really adore that part, it makes my suit really nice in touch. My character is a skunk so he got all black fur and one white stripe on his face, the transition between these fur colours is smooth too. I don't see any seams or bald spots in fur/minky. Both his shaved short fur and long parts are fluffy and soft, very nice in touch. It's easy to brush, fur brush (that I use cause my maker recommended me) doesn't tear out his fur. Head's overall look is SO CUTE AND AMAZING! I didn't had any more specific look in mind while commissioning my maker and honestly, I got suprised in really positive way! <3 While commissioning, I requested to have one set of eyelids so I can get more expressions of my sona. While working on my suit, my maker said she got an idea for second eyelids set, I liked that idea so I agreed and got two velcro eyelids sets in total. I use both sets of eyelids, it turned out perfect and fit my fursona very well. Also I got attachable minky velcro tongue, I use it all the time. My suit have 3D printed eye blanks and pink follow me eyes. As I said, i'm really happy with final result, my sona's design was simple enough so there was no need to simplify it.
