Jesdena opens slots for commissions in waves which they announce on their social media accounts and in their Discord channel. While they only except a pool of commissions at a time and I was lucky to have my commission chosen, I feel this definitely ensured that my fursuit would get made in a more desirable time-frame and with more attention, and by a maker I really wanted a suit from.
Jesdena is a very accessible maker through messaging apps such as Telegram and Discord, is very friendly and responds to messages. Jesdena was great to work with, and would message me with WIPs and would communicate often throughout the entire making process. Jesdena is open to messages about tips on cleaning, general care, traveling tips, storage, and sometimes costume ideas.
I am very satisfied with the completion time of my suit. I was able to make partial payments while Jesdena was completing suit commisions prior to mine, and was able to start working on my suit when I finalized payments. Jesdena lists all of her commissions on a Trello board which was perfect for seeing where my commission was in the queue. As I live locally to Jesdena, I was able to pick up my suit from the maker personally.
I am overall very happy with my partial suit from Jesdena!
The suit started as a secret project by Jesdena, which the maker did extremely well to keep secret throughout which allowed for a very fun suit surprise reveal to my partner and our friends once finished. The level of quality in the design, materials used in the fursuit and durability of Jesdena's suit is well worth the price.
Jesdena provided a long detailed list of instructions on how to clean the suit and look after the suit. I can see my partial lasting a long while!
The head is extremely comfortable to wear!
It is lined with some kind of material that makes it comfortable, and doesn't get left too sweaty after running around.
Light in weight so it's not to cumbersome to move around in, so I can very happily and energetically run around in it. Well ventilated through the mouth and nose holes. The head has a very reasonable amount of vision through the eyes, and the maker was lucrative enough to make extra room for wearing glasses in the head.
I am extremely impressed with Jesdena's work on Liquorice!
Liquorice looks very much like a dragon, has decent length plush horns and the bat like ears and fangs. Jesdena took me through the entire making process from start to end, from making sure I was happy with the fabric colours right through to the length of his fangs and horns. Jesdena did a wonderful job making Liquorice look exactly like the references I sent her. Jesdena has an amazing fursuit making style which she worked into Liquorice, making him cute and fluffy like she does to all her other suits.
Jesdena also made two forked tongues that can be swapped with velcro, one being posable and the other a normal floppy blepping. I was able to commission the suit with removable eyelids for those extra sassy expressions.
The suit partial came with wearable dragon wings.
The size of the wings are perfect for partialling in, especially for a first timer. Not to large that they bash into everything and not to small that they're hidden in photos. The colours and shape of the wings match the reference perfectly, with Jesdena sending me WIPs of the wing shape before they where made. I think this is Jesdena's second time making wings?
The wings were designed to be worn with a couple elastic straps that cross over, which are meant to slide over the wearer like a sleeveless shirt, and are surprisingly not overly visible (in photos either) when worn. The intended way to be worn did interfere with clothes that I wanted to partial in such as buttoned jackets, though with some tinkering I have been able to adjust the elastic with a knot and wear them instead like a backpack, which now allows me to wear my buttoned jackets both buttoned up and unbuttoned.
Liquorice came with a pair of partial dragon wings, which fit the character reference. More details in "wearer satisfaction"
The hand paws are very well made, and comfortable to wear!
They have 4 fingers and the thumb which I can move and twiddle about as normal when wearing the paws. The paws aren't lined, very easy to get on and off, and are very quite comfortable to wear inside. The paws are all made from soft fabric, with no hard plastic bits. The fur is super soft, and the beans/pads very plump and squishy.
This was Jesdena's first time making 5 fingered paws. Jesdena gave me two pairs of paws, with the first pair being the prototype/trial pair which were a little tight between the thumb and index finger. The pair Jesdena gave me fit perfectly.
The paws are amazing!
Jesdena was able to take my request for making a 5 fingered paw for Liquorice, and on top of that was able to sew the mixed purple and orange coloured pattern on the middle/palm paw pad. The paws also have nice white claws as well, which are at a very ideal length.
My partial came with a short and long floor dragging tail. Both tails have hidden belt loops in the tail which help squish the tail on nice and comfortably.
The tails are built super sturdy and durable, having worn and wagged them about quite a bit since wearing them. The long tail does well being dragged around both in and outdoors, and it has been doing very well in the outdoor environments I've taken it in such as grassy parks and pavement areas. I have had no trouble washing any dirt or mud off as well, having worn the short tail in a muddy environment which got a bit dirty, it still looked as good as new.
Jesdena also added a small hidden loop at the tip end of the long tail, which I have been able to use to attach a lanyard/strap for carrying or tying to my belt with a carabiner.
Jesdena matched both short and long tail to my character reference perfectly!
The spikes on the tail are very nice and vibrant in colour. Jesdena did the mix purple and orange pattern along the tail and has matched exact number of spikes exactly like I referenced. Jesdena was able to make a short tail and a long tail similar to her Dutch Angel Dragon suit, Lola. Having made the spikes a little smaller on the short tail, and full sized spikes on the longer tail to reflect the scale sizes of the tails. Both tails wag very well, with the longer tail being much more fun to wag about.
