The first one was made of foam. The second one was constructed mostly by my maker because he said he wanted to re-do the foam base in a 3D print. It came out amazingly better than the first one. Maker CommunicationResponse time is same day usually in the evenings when the maker is not at their day job. Project Completion TimeThe project was completed very fast but I was also helping with some of that effort. Overall Project QualityI am very satisfied with the work I received and I will be commissioning the maker again for future work. This maker exceeded expectations. I was not even expecting I would be given the opportunity for a "do-over" from the foam base we had originally worked on. Don't forget – I put in my own sweat equity by hand sewing some of the pieces, cutting them out, helping with design. As a cosplayer, I was hands on with this project. It was somewhat of a collaboration but the maker did a majority of the work and I paid for the materials, time and labour that was put in. All the seams are expertly sewed. Everything fits correctly. Components Head Wear SatisfactionWe updated a from a version 1, which had a foam base, to a version 2, which was 3D printed. This is the maker's way of saying he wasn't satisfied with the first results. He listened to the issues I had with version one being the restricted feeling, and sight line issues I had. This new version is lighter, has a built in liner, the eyes are way more easy to see through. I can wear my glasses in it without them fogging up and without having to wear contact lenses. The back of the head has a zipper for a more snug fit. Easy to put on, and the light weight keeps me more cool and able to see and breathe! I have a much wider field of view, the mouth is slightly open so I can breath easy and the face sits away from my own face. Like I said there is room for my glasses, which is a huge plus for me. Visual SatisfactionThe outside appearance is based very much from some small art and my VR avatar. I don't have a lot of reference material for my fursona, but the maker was able to talk me through design until i was super satisfied. I actually can cosplay as Banjo from Banjo Kazooie if I want to with this head as well, so it serves dual purpose. It's toon-y like Banjo, but also has my own colours and ideas with it. Overall much cuter than I originally anticipated. The work is symmetrical due to it being on a 3D base. The shaving is even, and he even had me return for an extra shave because he wasn't satisfied and got better shears for the work. The fur is soft and can be brushed easily. The expression is a wonderful cute smile that makes my character look friendly and kind, which is what I go for. It matches my idea of the fursona perfectly.
