Overall

Initial ContactIt was extremely easy to contact the maker! I used the linktree that I posted earlier in this review (https://linktr.ee/Eelowyn). After filling out the quote form, I got a telegram message from them the same day.

Maker CommunicationThe maker is extremely professional and was very easy to communicate with. There is a telegram chat that all clients are invited to, so even though the commission process was very professional, there was a friendly element to it.

Project Completion Timethe project was added to the wait-list around April and was finished and shipped by September. I live in the United States, and even though this maker is Canadian, there were no shipping problems. Everything was communicated well 🙂

Overall Project QualityOverall, I love the way Mambo turned out. I get compliments all the time from people about the quality of the fursuit, and it was definitely worth the money!

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head is extremely comfortable to wear. It has great ventilation and comes with a concealed fan in the mouth. I don't wear glasses, but my friend does, and he was fine wearing it. The visibility was also better than expected. Sometimes I just wear the head around my place because it isn't an issue at all to put it on or take it off. I did ask for a moving jaw that pokes at my neck when I put it on, but it is built to be tight-fitting like that. Even so, that is hardly noticeable once the head is completely on.

Visual SatisfactionI am very satisfied with how the head looks! I have it on display next to my desk so I can look at it every once in a while 🙂 The head has follow-me eyes, and the mouth is a half-open smile. I also have a long velcro tongue add-on you can see in the pictures. It is very easy to switch out the velcro accessories. The design of my character is simpler than most, but overall, I feel that the suit matches my character sheet very well.

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionThe body suit feels like it is a half-inch too small, so it is a tight fit, but it does not dig into the shoulders at all once completely on. Despite it being a little snug, the stitching is pretty durable. You can see in one of the pictures above that I am able to squat ass-to-ankles in suit without worry of the seams coming undone (although I wouldn't recommend doing this often haha). There is padding for the legs, which is needed to complete the digitigrade look. There is no lining, so I usually just wear under armour or a polyester fabric shirt/pants to avoid sweating directly into the fabric. There are zippers on the insides of the wings so I can get my hands out if needed, which makes putting the head on easier once suited up. The suit itself is a little hot, and while it is uncomfortable to wear for longer than a few minutes, I feel that is pretty standard for fursuits. The wings, which are made of minky fabric, probably make it a little hotter as well, just as an extra layer of fabric added to the sides when you are standing at rest.

Visual SatisfactionThe markings on the back need to be brushed to look even, but the stitching is very symmetrical. same with the shaving. Overall, I am very happy with the look!

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is short enough to not be uncomfortable when sitting down. It is the same nub-tail shape that the maker offers for all species (they have multiple different sizes). It zips onto the body suit, and because of its size, there is no reason to take it off during brushing or cleaning. It does seem super high quality and durable, like the rest of the suit.

Visual SatisfactionIt matches the reference sheet, and despite being the same shape as all other nub-tails, I feel like it fits a bat well 🙂 It is hard to notice how the tail moves when walking or dancing, as it is so short. It is basically meant to be an extension of the pattern on my character's back.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionThe feet are extremely comfortable to wear. The lining is the same as the lining in the head and in the digitigrade padding. If they weren't so bulky, I might wear them by themselves haha. They are large enough to make walking a little awkward though, and walking up or down stairs is especially awkward. There's also an option to get outdoor sandals with your feet, which I am wearing in the pictures. They are basic foam pads that have straps that fit snugly over the foot. The sandals probably aren't super durable.

Visual SatisfactionThe markings on the side are accurate, and the size is balanced out by the padding in the legs. There is visible stitching in the photo, which I imagine can be brushed out.

Special FeaturesI have LED lights for the eyes and UV fur. The UV fur takes a while to charge, but it is still noticeable in the dark. The LED lights are very cool, and the battery fits perfectly behind the neckfluff of the head. Because of this, it is not recommended to machine wash the head, although small amounts of water have been fine. the only comment about the LED lights is that some of the colors can be limited. I am very happy with the turquoise color LEDs that my suit has, however, it is a slightly different color than what is on the wings and markings. I also have a moveable jaw, which is pretty difficult to move in the way I want. I think I gave the maker a measurement that was slightly larger than my actual head size, and that affected the jaw a bit. But the rest of the head fits perfectly, so I am unsure.
