Twitter for initial interest in the costume.
Originally I showed interest on the suit via Twitter. The suit was posted to the Dealer's Den but the winner of the original auction backed out, so the maker contacted me on telegram to see if I was still interested. They were very clear about price, shipping delays, and sent me an image of the tracking number once shipped. Questions were answered within 24 hours.
Shipped quickly with provided tracking via USPS, though USPS delays had it sitting in limbo for about 5 days – fault of USPS, not maker though.
Overall I'm very happy with this head & paws. Most of my issues are small nitpicks that the maker addressed in their initial Dealer's Den post here: https://www.thedealersden.com/listing/peach-the-maned-lioness-head-paws/215081
I feel like for the price this suit is exceptional, worth more than I paid for sure. Overall Miro is a good toony suit. I've had her a short time but worn her very often, which I think speaks a lot on how comfortable of a suit it is. It is functional, with a neck/back of head that flows well, cute expression, and very good paws.
I'm also very happy with the maker being okay with things like modifications, add ons, and such, and being available for questions about it as someone who wants to make suits myself in the future.
I hope that this maker creates more suits in the future but I know that's not their usual work.
The fit of the head before modification by me was somewhat snug but not uncomfortable, with an entire foam headpiece (bucket style). There were no poking or prodding bits. Since it's mostly foam without lining on the inside, I wear with a balaclava just to keep any sweat/dirt off the inside. This was stated in the ad so I bought one way ahead of time.
Vision is very good, much better than other fursuit heads I've worn tbh. Because the eyes are a bit closer together than some other suits, it means I don't have that huge vision gap in the center though the ad warned for this – any vision problems are peripheral instead imo.
The modification I made: removed some foam from the back to make a bit more room for my glasses. This was done with advice from the maker and extra fur was included. This just made it possible to wear my glasses while in suit and didn't change anything major, but wanted to include it since I wore it unmodified for about 10 hours and the rest of the time was after mod, so I wanted to mention it.
This suit is a refurb of an older suit and has a few rough/glued spots but they aren't visually obvious unless it's very close up. The expression is very cute and toony, helped by a removable tongue for different effects (like a cute blep or more neutral expression). The mouth has plush teeth.
The markings are all symmetrical aside from the embroidered scar meant to be only on one side.
The only notable visual issue I've had is that the dark brown mane fur just wants to be curly, even minutes after being brushed. Heat treating the fur helped but still requires a bit of extra attention to not curl up. This can lead to the mane looking matted even if brushed, but that's more of an issue with the fur itself than the suit. I'd be happy to hear suggestions of how to manage unruly mane.
Aside from the curly mane fur, there are several different kinds of fur used and all are soft and shaved evenly in the areas where they're shaved.
I'm very satisfied with overall expression and look. In the future I may add some other small things (whiskers, different magnetic eyelids etc) to enhance the look. Thankfully the maker is happy with the purchaser making whatever modifications they like, which was one of my main draws to buying this mini partial.
The paws are four fingered and very soft with padded paw pads. They are unlined but not uncomfortable. So far I have not worn additional lining like gloves and haven't experienced any irritation. However I may add a lining in the future to protect them from sweat.
As a 4 fingered paw dexterity is affected, but I've found I can still hold my phone or a mug in them. There is no glue involved with the paws, they're 100% sewn so there's no roughness at all inside or out. Wrists have a fleece hem that work well over or under clothes.
The paws are one of my favorite aspects of the suit. They're cute, even, and the puffy paw pads look great. They are evenly shaved, with longer white fur underneath as a marking effect. The paw pads are padded fleece and surprisingly durable feeling.
Mentioned in review but: the suit head includes a minky tongue for various expressions. It's secured with Velcro and adds a cute element to the suit.
