Maker CommunicationWest did a great job with communication. She sent a ton of WIP images to make sure the suit was lining up with my vision and she was pleasant and professional throughout the entire process. Project Completion TimeShe finished the commission in a year, just in time for a convention. She worked very hard to make that con's deadline and I am grateful for her working with me to get it done in time. Overall Project QualityI am very satisfied with Sparrow's head! It is a dream come true. It is comfortable and high quality, I couldn't have asked for a better suit head. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head is very comfortable. The lining is perfect, not a single inch of exposed foam. The lining extends down to the neck as well, and the neoprene is white so there is no risk of it bleeding into the fur with washing. The vision is great and the breath-ability is also phenomenal. The head is lightweight and the muzzle is hollowed out nicely. There is also a fan that is detachable, but the head is so comfortable that the fan is not that necessary. My only criticism on wear-ability is the size of the head's neck opening. It is a little tight and takes wiggling to put on, but I figured this may be necessary for my characters separate neck cowl to wrap around easily. A zipper in the neck may have helped make this easier, but it wasn't a big enough issue for me to ask West about it. Visual SatisfactionThis head is gorgeous! West portrayed the character and her markings perfectly. I picked West to make Sparrow because they do a great job making different species in a toony way. A fox will look like a fox, a cat will look like a cat, there is no risk of your fursona defaulting to a dog face. Bears get this treatment often and are a particularly difficult species to portray in a fursuit, West knocked it out of the park. The shaving is smooth, all the seams are sewn, the teeth and eyelids are magnetic and 3d printed, and the symmetry is solid (especially for a character with so many spots). All if the fur is high quality and soft too. West did a beautiful job on Sparrow's head, I couldn't be happier! Special FeaturesWest wanted to experiment with Sparrow's head and asked if they could try some new magnetic features. I agreed, since I am also a suit maker we both knew that if something didn't work that it would be easy for me to fix it on my own. This suit has a few special magnetic features: her teeth, eyes, eyelids, and head sprout. Some of the magnets were weaker and didn't stick when the suit was in motion (specifically the sprout and the teeth). The thickness of the fur made it hard for the magnets to work for these parts, so I permanently attached them. The magnetic eyes and eyelids worked perfectly! I love the interchangeable eyelids. They stay on strong, even with rough housing, and the flocking on them is a nice touch. This suit also has a removable neck cowl, the spots are all sewn in and symmetrical. It attaches in the back with velcro and snaps and is very sturdy. The muzzle has a fan and a special 3d printed insert to make it removable as needed. There is also a pocket sewn into the neck to hold the fan battery and to move the wire out of the way of the wearers face. The details to the wearers comfort are wonderful.
