Features: Horns or Antlers Concept Art Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactI've heard of Gray from one of their previous commissioners so decided to email them asking some questions of what they can include on any potential suit. They responded 4 days later (which they were apologetic for since they were out of town at the time, but that was still quick for me) answered the questions in great detail and offered to calculate a quote for the suit. Maker CommunicationGray is VERY quick with responses, with the longest I would have to wait to hear back being a day. They consistently gave monthly updates explaining what was done and what the plans are for the next month. Communication is definitely one of Gray's strongest traits and they don't miss a beat. Project Completion TimeGot the commission slot in mid-October and the build process started at the end of that month, the suit was completed in late May a month earlier than the latest estimated lead time. Overall, it took a little less than 7 months to complete, on their site the estimated lead time is usually between 6-8 months. Shipping wise, they shipped it out a week after completion and provided the tracking number. The package arrived in early June. Overall Project QualityI am incredibly happy with the not only the quality of the suit, but the time and communication as well. Gray definitely exceeded my expectations with the suit and their commissioning process and was definitely worth the price. Suit looks amazing and fits amazingly. Components Head Wear SatisfactionCompared to many other heads that I've worn Gray did an amazing job making the head fit. The head has room for glasses which helps with vision and overall the head is very comfortable allowing me to be able to wear it for several hours without any form of discomfort. The inside of the head is lined making it easy to absorb sweat and clean. The head is well ventilated, it's ventilated through the mouth, nose and eyes. The head is very easy to breathe in and I've never felt the air get stuffy in the head. With the vision, it has great peripheral vision so I don't need to turn my head. There's very narrow blind spot in the middle so that's a plus. I have no complaints about vision and I've not run into anything like I use to with this head. The only issue encountered was the left antler and it's attachment socket falling off the head during a con (I assumed due to a mix of me shaking the head around and the incorrect glue used to attach the socket to the head), but that was quickly remedied with 3D printed part glue and hot glue. Visual SatisfactionIt turned out wonderfully. The head very well matches the character design and Gray definitely delivered. Gray did very well with the antlers especially having them be magnetically attachable, having the attachment holes well placed that you would have to really look to see them in the case that the antlers are not there and was very accommodating to my request to increase the size of the antlers. The shaving was seamless and definitely looks great! Transitions and length was what I was looking for. The material is great and the fur is very easily brushable. The expression is exactly what I wanted with a permanent frown with it being able to achieve varied expressions from multiple angles. The eyes are follow-me eyes. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionIt fits exceedingly well, it only feels tight whenever I squat down, but otherwise I've had no problems with the fitting. The seams are durable, I have yet to pop one. The bodysuit is unlined which I feel like makes cleaning easier. The lack of lining is not problematic if you're wearing under armor. There are construction marks on the inside, but they don't bleed and I personally like them since it just marks the precision that went into making the suit. Air does flow somewhat easily, I don't see the suit getting hotter than the usual fursuit. Overall, Gray did a really good job at fitting it to the DTD I provided and the suit is comfortable to be able to easily wear for several hours. Visual SatisfactionThe bodysuit matches the concept art almost exactly, honestly couldn't have asked for anything better. I love the chosen colors since it brightens up in the right lighting. The markings are very symmetrical, don't bleed on the other parts, and the fur is easy to brush. Gray did a great job on the shaving, the transitions were definitely what I was looking for and I love the length since it definitely makes the suit appear very fluffy. Hands Wear SatisfactionThe paws are comfortable to wear though sometimes the thumbs are not too dexterous, but it's still dexterous enough to grab things and open doors. If the wrists aren't fully tucked in to the bodysuit, they will once in a blue moon expose my wrists if I pivot my wrists too much in a certain direction. I have no problems keeping the paws on my hands and they will not slide off and the paws can be put on with ease, though there is no easy way to tell which one is the right paw and which one is the left, but they fit well on either hand and because they're both white paws, seeing the difference between right and left is negligible. The seams are very durable and the paw pads have not shown any signs of falling off or damage. The inside of the paws are lined and are easy to clean. Visual SatisfactionFor plain white paws with black paw pads, Gray did a great job on keeping it smooth and evenly shaved. Tail Wear SatisfactionThe tail is very comfortable to wear, Gray even included a strap to wear with said tail which makes it more comfortable to wear with the bodysuit instead of the usual belt. Tail is made with the usual loops on the back to wear with the provided strap or a belt for partialling. Visual SatisfactionPerfect size and are essentially ripped straight out of the ref sheet. Feet Wear SatisfactionEven though I did not give Gray a shoe size, they did a very good job of having the feet be the right size and comfortable to wear. I don't ever have to worry about the feet sliding off or showing my ankles since they have zippers that allows them to be attached to the bodysuit, only downside is that you have to be careful when zipping the feet to the bodysuit and keep the fur out of the zipper. Even with all the walking around I have done, no seams have popped and there are no other signs of damage. Visual SatisfactionI have zero complaints for the feet. Special FeaturesThe closest thing to a special part that I could think of would be the magnetically attached antlers, made with EVA foam and 3D printed parts for head attachment. The 3D printed parts attach the antlers to the head and the magnets keep them in place, they are easy to put on, though I would recommend putting them on before putting on the head as finding the socket afterwards is difficult without outside assistance. They are very durable and still mostly look the same as when they were unboxed even after striking A LOT of lower doorways, chandeliers and ceiling fans due to the additional height the slightly longer than 2 feet antlers give. One problem I've had with them was having the left antler along with its socket fall off the head during the con, but it was quickly fixed by a maker friend who used a combination of 3D part glue and hot glue in certain places and the antlers haven't fallen off since.
